I’ve often wondered if my period follows more of a lunar month cycle than a gregorian one but I’ve never fully explored that theory
The Moon controls the flow of our waters ( as we are majority water ) the way she does the oceans. We ebb and flow through the seasons each month as the Moon does her cycles. It would be interesting for you to chart your moods for a few months and see if there is a repetitive pattern. Use a journal each day—note what sign the Moon is in ( she typically ingresses into the next sign every 2-3 days ). There are typically 13 ingresses per month; however, there are some months with 14. It typically takes 28 days for the moon to circle the earth; a woman's cycle is typically 28 days.
A woman's menstrual cycle ( as well as mental and hormonal states ) are influenced by the Moon. Both cycles are connected, as well as the four lunar phases: ( new, crescent, full, and fourth quarter ). This is why I always try to list where the current cycle is, as well as the ruling planet and any ingresses.
It will probably seem somewhat overwhelming at first; however, if you start small and add more knowledge upon what you've learned, it will all begin to click as smoothly as the cycles themselves.

Wall calendars give you a total glance at once ( or online if you prefer ). I prefer the old fashioned hanging calendar that I can write on! I bought a BIG one the end of last year from Papaya. I LOVE their stuff.

I also log my oracle pulls to recognize patterns each month ( then subsequently the year ). That typically delivers a very powerful message that I apply to the new year. xo

I had a doozy of a dream before waking.
==========
For what reason I don't recall - a man enters my ( strange ) house, sits at a table, and lays out a deck of cards. He's giving me a reading and tells me to choose one.
They are fanned out in a three layer stack - some facing down on top of some facing up on top of the remainder facing down. I suppose I'm curious as to why this particular arrangement and ask, "Which row do I choose from?"
He has a conniption fit and along with his family, refuses to leave. A female police officer appears and tries to peel him away from the table, but he won't budge. The man's daughter latches onto her in likewise fashion, worsening the situation. I grab the daughter by the arm and try like heck to pull her loose from the officer, but her hold is impossibly strong
==========
I only mention the dream here because of the card reading symbology.
My understanding is that while seemingly traumatic on the surface, the dream itself was quite generic with a simple message, almost as if a reminder.
Questioning why we are dealt the cards we are dealt results in us becoming fixated with those realities that strengthen in their presence.
So, if you are going to question the process of events unfolding in your life, do it regarding events that resulted in enjoyable outcomes. Your vibration will then be tuned into experiencing more outcomes of a similar nature.
It's the unpleasant realities that we tend to dwell on when questioning, thus prolonging their existence.

Hmmmm. . .that's a pretty powerful message there. The face-down cards symbolize your future and the face-up symbolize your past and present ( thus can be seen ). When one gives a reading, the cards are always facedown; thus, the receiver must use their intuition to select—they never know what message they'll receive ( well, they do deep inside, they just may not remember or cannot access it, thus the search for answers ); however, they always know the card they select is accurate ( if they follow their intuition ).
The refusal to move is symbolic of an obstacle in your life that seems unsurmountable, but it's really not. I am not sure who called the police ( or maybe I didn't process that part of your post ) but regardless of whether you did or not, it symbolizes force being used to remove the obstacle. This signifies the obstacle cannot be moved by human force, and will only create more obstacles, i.e. - the daughter latching onto the officer latching onto the man latched onto your table.
There are some things that we cannot control ourselves—that is the symbolism of the dream. Whatever this obstacle is, it's giving you a choice between your past, present, or future. Ironically, the Moonology card I drew today has a message about not looking back ( but we'll get to that later ).
This obstacle is steadfast. You have two choices: you can either continue your current pattern of the past ( face-up cards ) or you can change your habits and stop resisting what cannot be humanly moved by physical forces.
We are on the tail end of Aquarius energy, which is rebellious in nature, and focuses on individual freedom. Actually, in looking at the clock as I type this, the Moon just moved into Pisces; thus, while there will be residual affects of Aquarius energy, for the most part, things will calm down now until the Moon moves into feisty Aries late Saturday afternoon.
In acceptance lieth peace.

The police officer just kind of appeared.
A huge THANK YOU for your interpretation of the dream, especially in regards to the face up cards. That completely escaped me.
I feel the dream mostly referenced the past and was a reminder to keep moving forward. There was a sense that the house I was in was a future residence, as it was located in a neighborhood similar to one I lived in "a previous state".

Then you can't escape your past is what immediately springs to mind. xo

So I have my own story this morning that happened last night:
Keep in mind I live alone. Well, except for the cat that adopted me, Cali ( short for Calico ). So, I'm soaking in a hot salt bath with moon water, lavender & tea tree oil, a clear & rose quartz, and a green aventurine heart. I had just settled in to relax and I heard something slide across the tile from under my bathroom door. I looked down and it was a black obsidian crystal! I was like, what? How did that get off my desk ( or out of my selenite bowls?! ). Then Cali pushes the door open and looks down at the crystal, then looks up at me. . . I wasn't born yesterday ( I know that look from any female ), so reached out and got the crystal and put it in my bath water. She smugly walked out.
I think this photo of her stretched out donning 'the cat's meow' ( or, my work for today is done ) is pretty much all else I need to say . . . in Ancient Egypt, cats were once considered Gods; Cali has not forgotten this. * mind boggled *

This is the Moon Cycle , though it is 29.577 days ,
in the New Moon to New Moon cycle...
Twenty eight days , is given as an averaging between
rotation ( 27.3 days ) , and New Moon to New Moon...
28 X 13 = 364
Thus there was a "day out of time" for women , long before the Mayan Calendar...
( if one perceives the calendar in that fashion )
In addition , there are biorhythms that should / possibly be noted :
The biorhythm theory is the pseudoscientific idea that our daily lives are significantly affected by rhythmic cycles with periods of exactly 23, 28 and 33 days, typically a 23-day physical cycle, a 28-day emotional cycle, and a 33-day intellectual cycle.
Yet some have found , though unproven , their cycles do match with the "theory"...
Just offering up some info...

One of my mentors said she felt led to create and mail me this Spider crystal grid. It's serendipitous because I just mentioned being part spider ( watching and waiting ) to RiAN in the question thread!
I've always felt an affinity with spiders and never kill them; I catch and release virtually any insect I can.
Spider is the Spirit of Creation; her magic consists of weaving your dreams into reality. I have had two pay increases and been blessed with three other financial gifts in less than one month due to a stringent six-week practice of allowing. This totem grid was yet another confirmation that I am on the right path, as Spider represents the makers and keepers of their own destiny. She also brings balance to be and feel at ease in the world.
Deeper meanings include revelations of your inner world such as your natural talents, your ability to manifest the life you want, and the stamina it will take to ensure your success. If Spider's web is torn; she rebuilds and carries on.
Spider symbolizes the wisdom to face your fears and not be held in by limitations. Native Americans praised her for wisdom, and a teacher of humanity's alphabet through her web. She is a symbol of life, and finding joy in the complexities of that life.
Eastern mythology dictates those born in the year of the Pig under a Capricorn sign would have a Spider Totem: I was born in the year of the Pig and my Moon is in Capricorn. So is Johnny, as he was born in the year of the Pig and his moon is also in Capricorn ( we are practically mirror twins of one another - rare to find in a lifetime, and why we'll always remain best friends ). Eastern tradition also reveres Spider as sacred, and associate them with goddesses like Yushkep Kamui, the goddess for safe childbirth.
Do you know what your animal totem is? Do you know how to live with your totem, heeding its wisdom and magic for your life? If so share with us so that all can learn.
