Poetry Contest Description
Probability Puzzler
Please respond in whatever manner you can,
Poetically, metaphorically, Phora-Physically,
and or Mathemartically to....
Imagine a new car is behind door #1,2 or 3.
After you pick a door,
the host tells you are wrong,
He invites you to keep your guess, or to pick a different door
What would you do?
Easy enough,
But what if, after picking a door, the host, who knew which door had the car, opened a different door to reveal a goat, and invited you to pick again, or keep your first guess, what would you do?
Would you keep or switch? Explain

You want a car, not a goat (competition entry)
Imagine three numbered doors,
Behind which you cannot see,
Behind one a car, the others goats,
And a host that smiles with glee.
For the host, he knows everything,
He can see behind each door,
But he is at least sporting chap,
So pay attention, I do implore.
Once you choose a door,
He leaves your chosen door closed,
Instead he will open a different door,
Where a goat becomes exposed.
He will ask you a simple question,
Do you stay or do you switch?
You can choose either unopened door,
The tricky part is: which.
If you stick with your original choice,
Your chance of winning is one third,
If he lets you switch to the last door,
Believe me, that option is preferred.
For the host does not choose by chance,
He always reveals a goat at first,
So if you are clever you will switch,
And your odds improve, (become two thirds).
On the other hand, suppose if:
The host opened a random door?
This is a subtle but different thing,
So the odds are different to before.
In this case the odds are dead even,
It is exactly a fifty fifty split,
So my advice regardless of the host,
It never hurts to switch.

Thank you, Noble_Incubus,
I cannot reveal if you have the correct answer, so the comp is still open.
I cnnot reveal the correct answer yet because I am still actually trying to figure it out.
Like you give the odds for not moving at 1/3, which may or may not be correct, but from
a lowly observer, if I see that my guess is one among two, after the host takes away a door,
if somebody new just walked in the room without knowing the history, he would see a choice of
one out of two, and might think the odds would be 1/2. I am just saying, if anyone could elaborate on that.
Also, it just blows my mind that the odds are 2/3 simply by choosing to move. You are probably correct that the odds are 2/3 in favor of winning, but how? why?
Also, to give a nod to poetry, how could that be incorporatred. I'm just sayin, this comp is sort of on the fly, so thanks everybody so far.

Probabilities are tricky to determine at the best of times. If you are looking for a precise mathematical answer then you need to define the question precisely. The details matter.
My advice (and it’s just advice so feel free to ignore) is to run this as a poetry competition where competitors can draw inspiration from the opening post.

Is the car the goat
It stands unseen, polished, chrome all gleaming
but from its exhaust, comes shit all steaming
to blight the planet foul the air
a falsehood's affection, of a love affair
The door to your dreams the Ad men choose
a money pit, that rules the road
the odds to pull the longest straw
promoters to win and gain applause
A billy goat for company
to mow the grass, eat the weeds
keep the brambles from your door
enhance your life, not keep you poor
The scrap yard crane, that lies in wait
soon piles of scrap, so obsolete
don't make me bet which door I'd choose
I'll call my goat; Auto and see how it goes
but from its exhaust, comes shit all steaming
to blight the planet foul the air
a falsehood's affection, of a love affair

a money pit, that rules the road
the odds to pull the longest straw

Gloria The Goat
Who needs a car
When they always break down?
Or a boat when it gets
Holes in the bottom
And it won't float?
I'd rather have a goat
even though
It couldn't get me
As far as a car
Gloria is more than just
a pet goat
Gloria keeps me company
She is a friend indeed
She 's a real blessing
Because my lawn
Never needs mowing
With her around
When they always break down?
Or a boat when it gets
Holes in the bottom
And it won't float?
I'd rather have a goat
even though
It couldn't get me
As far as a car
Gloria is more than just
a pet goat
Gloria keeps me company
She is a friend indeed
She 's a real blessing
Because my lawn
Never needs mowing
With her around
