Without Greed
and Corruption
Racism
cannot exist
our history
tells us so
If there was
No
Greed
and Corruption
Slavery
would have never
Existed

And yet
even to this day
We still have slaves
Because We Allow
Greed
and Corruption
to Exist
If our justice system
is not Upgraded
Modernized
THEN nOTHING WILL CHANGE
take a look at the history
LAWS were changed
a few years later
the same laws
were quietly
undone
watered down
when things were seen to be done
until things
died down
and we the people
went home
THIS HAS HAPPEND
BEFORE
and sadly it is
going to happen again
if the root of our problems
are not dealt with

My white
forefathers
were poor
enslaved
with ignorant belief's
Preached by those
who stole our lands
by force deception
and greed
recruiting
the poor me
the weak willed
the jealous and bitter
the eager to please
the  religious cult
burning us
at the stake
for a fee
as the Centuries
rolled by
people began to cry
no more chains
or we will no longer
bend the knee
So deception and Greed
enslaved
other groups
within our race
and now
their children
demand the Same
No More Chains
time to pay
for the pain
for allowing greed
and deception
to remain
among those
who speak

As great as poems are to get your point across, we wish to avoid self promotion and encourage more actual dialogue with the limit. This is the only rule you are being asked to follow.

I'M SPEAKING IN MY SAYINGS
ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY
IS THIS NOT FREE SPEECH
IS IT NOT ALLOWED
TO SPEAK
IN THE language of poems/sayings
on whats happening today
if one does not like what i write
understandable
that other people can
but other people cannot
SPEAK
IN THE language of poems/sayings
on whats happening today
FREE SPEECH
ONLY FOR THOSE
YOU AGREE WITH
SAD DAYS AHEAD
FOR FREE THINKING PEOPLE
OH WELL

We're sorry you feel that way; however, that is the only rule you're being asked to follow in this thread.  There was too much aggrandizing self-promotion in the first thread; we are trying to prevent that here so we can focus on more open dialogue. You're more than welcome to edit your posts and join the dialogue if you'd like. Then they wouldn't be removed.

But as it stands, you most likely wouldn't have a conversation in poetic form with someone IRL. Also, even DU only allows two submissions in an eight-hour period. Spamming three or four consecutively ( sometimes across multiple threads ) should be discouraged as well.

Neil Clark
is a journalist, writer, broadcaster and blogger. His award winning blog can be found at www.neilclark66.blogspot.com. He tweets on politics and world affairs
By focusing on the historical crimes of Western imperialism, we are in danger of forgetting that some terrible wrongs were done more recently in US-led ‘regime-change’ operations for which no one has yet apologized.
We live in strange times. Ordinary people are being encouraged, some would say gaslighted, to feel guilty over bad things done by Western powers hundreds of years ago, over which not even their great grandparents had any control. Yet at the same time they are expected to ignore or forget about equally awful things which happened in living memory.
The dominant hegemonic narrative has it that exploitative ‘imperialism’ – and the attitudes of racial superiority that went with it – ended with the demise of the old European empires. But that is absurd. Arguably an even worse form of it has emerged in recent decades, one which has caused an enormous amount of death and destruction around the world.
Yet while the ‘old’ imperialism and anyone associated with it is completely beyond the pale, the new turbo-charged, ‘politically correct’ imperialism, which often masquerades under a ‘progressive’ or ‘humanitarian’ banner, gets off very lightly. Consider what has happened these past 30 years.
Destruction of Iraq
In 2003, Iraq, already targeted for years with draconian sanctions which caused great harm to the civilian population, including the death of many children, was subject to an all-out military assault on the fraudulent grounds that its leader Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction which could be assembled and launched within 45 minutes.

Labour MPs taking the knee for #BLM voted to bomb Libya, ushering in a regime that restored the slave trade in black Africans
Result: Iraq was destroyed. Hundreds of thousands died during or following the invasion. The chaos caused by ‘Operation Iraqi Freedom’ led directly to the rise of the death cult IS/Daesh.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, in 2011 more or less the same was done to Libya. The country with the highest Human Development Index in the whole of Africa in 2009 was bombed back to the Stone Age by the NATO ‘human rights’ crusaders.
The pretext for the assault was that Muammar Gaddafi was about to slaughter the inhabitants of Benghazi. But five years later, after the country lay in ruins, the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Select Committee report held that ‘the proposition that Muammar Gaddafi would have ordered the massacre of civilians in Benghazi was not supported by the available evidence.’ Just like Iraqi WMDs.
In 2017, it emerged that black Africans were being sold at slave markets in ‘liberated’ Libya for as little as $400.
Almost the entire British political and media class – including virtue-signaling Labour MPs now ‘taking the knee’ to protest against racism – supported the bombing of Libya, a regime-change op which was marked on the ground by racist pogroms against black Africans by NATO-backed ‘rebels.’
You don’t have to be Einstein to spot the double standards.
IT'S NOT TRUE COZ IT'S NOT OLD WE DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT THING S LIKE THIS
SAD
OH SORRY
IS THIS ALLOWED

I’m going to jump in here for a minute :

1. Drone’s posts will stay for now in the event that Drone wants to edit/add anything.

2.  Keep in mind that others here, write forum posts in similar fashion , i.e., Blackwolf, where the lines of conversation appear to be in the form of a poem but are actually how the post author likely “sees” their response in their mind, before writing it out.

That’s the impression I get here, that the replies are not actually poetry in this case, but vertical sentences as opposed to the traditional horizontal ones that we are used to.

3. Yes, I told you to set forth your guidelines for this thread in the opening post , but let’s not nitpick and micromanage too much, because then you run the risk of accomplishing exactly what you seek to not have happen here: control of speech and how it is expressed .

4.  DUP allows two submissions of poems in people’s poetry section in an 8 hour period—not posts in forum threads, just to clarify .

5. What will be removed and monitored here, is the same thing we watch for in every area of DUP : spam and abusiveness toward other members .

6. Carry on.

English liberty, we often claim, is in our DNA. This island race fiercely defends its freedoms, we thought. The struggle for freedom is indeed fundamental to English history – though it was always at war with those other national traits, authoritarianism and subservience.
The free-born Englishman of Elizabethan times all too happily trod on his neighbours’ rights as he claimed his own, but they in turn rose up and demanded their just freedoms. The cussed Presbyterians of the Scottish lowlands, the sturdy yeomen of Cromwell’s New Model Army, Young Ireland, the People’s Charter, Mrs Pankhurst’s Suffragettes, the post-war teenage rebels, Women’s Liberation and the Brixton rioters –  all have helped to enrich the story of English liberty with their own brilliant chapters.
Yet, with one or two exceptions, the government has come under no criticism for its high-handed and oppressive clampdown. What has happened to our proud tradition of liberty?

I just want the thread free of self promotion is all.

It's not nitpicking or micro managing - it's one simple request to respect other posters by not burying their contributions. Multiple poem or poem like postings that can easily be titled and submitted as poems push threads into an early grave - same as spam, same as bait by trolls wanting responses.

And Blackwolf clearly demonstrates he is capable of having discussions.

"You are not allowed to post your own poems" "You are not allowed to spam" "You are not allowed to post copy paste articles without links" "You are not allowed to post inflammatory remarks as bait for responses" "You are not allowed to argue about god being this or that and not that or this since no one has the final say on what god is or does"  ...... That IS  control.

What I posted was a single simple guideline to promote healthy discussion and debate, which is more likely to occur if readers don't have to muddle through self promotions, much less a blast of consecutive ones or a slew of posts consuming a 3rd of a forum page.

Just to clarify; what I said was:

Also, even DU only allows two submissions in an eight-hour period. Spamming three or four consecutively ( sometimes across multiple threads ) should be discouraged as well.

And it should be discouraged. Posting five-seven posts in a short span of time ( not to mention simultaneously on other threads ) as drone did should be considered spam.

BLACK LIVES MATTER

National Geographic stands in solidarity with the entire Black community and our own family of Black employees, Explorers, photographers, and storytellers and commits to action

FOR SEVERAL YEARS, National Geographic Partners (NGP) has used a building-sized billboard across the street from our headquarters in downtown Washington, DC, to visually publicize our work and declare our most important priorities as an organization. As of today, the billboard now features just three words: Black Lives Matter.

Statements like this are important but are no substitute for concrete action. As we grapple with the reality of systemic racism, we recognize that we have a responsibility to speak, to act, and to do our part to address injustice in the United States and around the world.

At National Geographic, we’ve long prided ourselves on providing a portal to the planet through exploration, education, and storytelling. We’ve aimed to go further and dig deeper than anyone else to tell the most important stories about the human and the natural world. But we realize we have not always lived up to that mission. Our lens on the world has sometimes been flawed and myopic, and we are taking steps to offer a more inclusive portal into the wider world.

What we would LOVE to see are more of our minority members in the new thread.  This includes all members who are not considered white. We understand that historically it's been difficult to discuss race relations with the majority of white people because of the potential for conflict. We understand that even with close friends it's difficult to call racism out because it's easier for you to just swallow the indignity of it rather than cause a potential wall of denial, et al.
THESE WORDS AMAZE ME
OR IS IT BECAUSE
YOUR LIVING ON
ANOTHER PLANET
We understand that historically it's been difficult to discuss race relations with the majority of white people because of the potential for conflict. Lets start with historically shall we
yes in the history that you preach African people sold African men woman and children to white and non white slave traders nasty but true  that would be  historically if you believe that these slave traders were running around Africa catching thousands of Africans what can I say The Slavery Abolition Act, (1833), THE first TIME in History, act of Parliament that Permanently  abolished slavery  freeing more than 800,000 enslaved Africans
Slavery in Great Britain existed and was recognised from before the Roman occupation until the 12th century, when chattel slavery disappeared, at least for a time, after the Norman Conquest. Former slaves of all races merged into the larger body of serfs in Britain and no longer were recognized separately in law or custom.SLAVERY has been around for a long long time unpaid slavery that is
Now days we have low paid SLAVERY you are mixing slavery with racism SLAVERY IS NOT RACIST if the american indians were not so untrainable as slaves
there would have been very few african slaves
and they are still paying the price
to this day
the racists within the white majority is small
there are those who believe anyone not white
anyone with a different culture should be slaves
these sad bitter group hug  need someone to blame
anyone black brown chinese asian arabs because
that is how they have been trained to believe
by ignorant bitter with their lot in life
mummy's and daddy's
you infer hypothesize
as in the day of old
that it is the same today
We understand that historically it's been difficult to discuss race relations with the majority of white people because of the potential for conflict. your words
i find sad
because the majority of white people
now day and age have no problem
to discuss the reasons for the pain
its called greed stupidity ignorance
our true history be you brown black whatever
color you are
has been hidden
never told in our schools
forbidden history
not allowed to be told
are the very very rich
who got rich by useing human beings
as slaves are they white
the answer
is undeniable
yes they are
has anyone black or white
demanded that they bend the knee
lovely sound
Silence
I wonder why

Does that mean
most white people are racists
because the very very rich
are white
the rich don't care
what color you be
you be slaves
and yet there are people burning
and looting because of the color
the owners skin
or simply want what they see
burning down their own community
how do we stop this we have to stop this
if we realy want
to make a change
not for you or me
i couldn't give a shit about us
and i don't give a shit about
the poor me color of your skin
the only thing i give a shit about
is the children
Obviously YOU DON'T
because IF YOU DID
you would understand those words
I HAD A DREAM
AND MAKE IT REAL
THIS IS
THE ONLY WAY
the path we now walk
leads to the abyss
so you have to ask your self
the QUESTION
DO YOU realy care
for the children
or just your
poor me group herd mentality

I'LL get off my soap box now
and if i've offended anyone
i would  suggest you pretend
you didn't read this
and stay in your cage
like a hamster on a wheel
in your belief
that you care
for a better way of life
a better way of living
for the kids

Divide and Conquer
BY ANY MEANS
LET THE SLAVES
PROTEST
so long as they keep paying our taxes
we don't care
but just to keep them happy
we will do the
seen to be done

we are given
fools gold
and like moths
to the flame
we fly
