I totally understand your fear Ahavati for how things are going in the USA. I, too am going along with the scientists on this one, like most people are. They know more than I.
It is both tragic & frightening to see how this virus has spread across the world & the way it is overwhelming the various health service systems that it encounters. Both of our countries have yet to reach a predicted peak in the next few weeks. I hope it will not be as bad in our counties because we have been forwarned but we will just have to wait & see. It's more the case of, if nobody is gonna look after you, you will have to look after yourself.

This is from a nurse at my local hospital. I have not verified this information ( I have not subscribed to the Washington Post ); however, she is not one to sensationalize.

CO got a 1-day supply
IL 10%
WV 1%
NY 2%
Florida who has refused to shut down spring breakers and mass gatherings got 200% with a third shipment on the way for total of 300%
February 5 - Alex Azar requested $2B in funding for supplies for the national stockpile and received 25%
Feb 7 they sent 17.8 tons of PPE and supplies to China

The Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard can now order units and individual members of the Ready Reserve back on active duty for up to two years, according to the executive order. The order said a recall, if issued, could not result in having more than 1,000,000 members on active duty at any one time.
My brother is Coast Guard, retired at 20 years ( age 38 ), and only in his 50's. He may get called back. I hope not.
