The Employee

These small hours of the night wrapped in quilt upon my bed
Reliving the past quarrelsome day and a quote or two I've said
I wish for quiet and pray for peace that I may get some sleep
Beside my queen I lie here still as she rests and dreams so deep
From those not qualified to make judgments I dwell upon their word
Drawn from their quiver of foolish lies amazed at what I've heard
Blame is what they freely give only credit they wish to take
Their motives are as clear as quartz behind a smile they'll sometimes fake.
As morning breaks I hear the quail clucking in the field
Once more I'm the quintessential worker who keeps his thoughts concealed.

Your Antidote

Quiet is the night
The Queen is alive
With her Quarrelsome fight
She is the quintessential warrior
The feathers of the Quail
Rest on the rods within her quiver
Only the qualified will prevail
Beneath her inviting quilt
It’s all in an ancient quote
Only the slow hands of the quartz
Will reveal her poison is your antidote

Astropoetry✨

A break of equine quartz on compass points;
The children of the four ways on the dial.
Eternal in their long and quiet siege,
A quintessential spirit to the Earth.

How quarrelsome the constellations are,
Depending from the quilt on where we live.
All twelve of Zodiac are qualified,
The King & Queen of Oceans oversee:

The Bull of Taurus charges Capricorn,
It’s Sagittarius who takes him down.
With Gemini the Twins and Pisces Fish,
It’s Scorpio and Leo weighing in.

The flight of Phoenix passes overhead,
I quiver with excitement at the view.
The quail within my field have taken flight;
I’ll quote this in a dream of poetry!

Thanks Buddy and Jade!

Just a heads up, participants:  once this comp ends, I'm going to start putting up the next letters, two comps at at time, just to get this series finished up.  Long story short--I thought I was going to have tons of free time this fall to wallow in comps and online stuff, because I thought the college where I teach, was shutting down our lab tech program.  They're having us teach out the last class so they can graduate in May, then we're all done, but for now, I have to put my teacher hat back on, and there goes my free time.  lol  So yeah--gonna blow these out, 2 at a time, starting with the next letters!

The sewing circle

On a tuesday afternoon
The ladies meet in the public rooms
To gossip and chatter, sometimes have a complain
While the present Queen looked down from a dusty frame

Mable said to Dorris "how's your leg"
"You could hardly walk last time we met"
The healers quartz wand had eased the pain
"I'm fit as a flea, and right as rain"

She Produced a quilt, its patchwork face
Its quintissential look brought a gale gasps
A Royal hunting scene to bag a boar or quail
A arrow from the quiver ready to impale

"it qualified for the competition and you should enter"
"With such a stunning piece, we've not seen better"
The quarrelsome woman now broke her quiet
My dog needs a blanket perhaps I'll buy it

In an air of disbelief all the ladies swore
That quote would see some tempers soar
The voodoo dolls mouth was repeatedly stabbed
The needle to stop the evil woman's gab

indigenous Q

An alphabet came from African language
a beautiful consonant clicking sound,
"Qiqa, Qonda, Qaphela"
"be wise, understand, be aware"

a click from a thin peak of a tongue
that collide to the upper layer of the mouth
"Q!", "Q!"

an alphabet created languages,
and carried its value in different shapes

like,..

"Quit, Quite, Quiet"
which may never sound the same,
from its origin.

Thanks for your entry, Slip!

Imbongi--thank you for joining in, too, but your entry needs to incorporate all the words in the list in the opening post of this comp.  You're free to re-write and resubmit, if you'd like.

The college knew, a year ago, that the director was retiring and I warned them not to run the first-year lab tech classes because we’d have a group who would be caught, needing to do their clinical year and no one but me, left , with the director to be gone and two other adjunct faculty not returning. So they ran the course and dragged their heels on searching for a new director , went through 5 applicants with no success. Here we are, less than 2 weeks before classes start & they finally made it work to teach out & graduate the last group, only because the outgoing director agreed to stay on in limited capacity to help . Typical though—always half assed and last minute at that place and they’re still looking for a director but admitted they aren’t hopeful. I’ve always kept under the radar, ninja-taught my classes, but I’m ready to be done , too.  I enjoy training up new lab techs but it’s such a disorganized mess there .

Anyway! Back to the Comp —lol

The Dream I Chase

She is my queen, the dream I chase,
Filling my heart with undying love,
I quiver in quiet thoughts embraced,
Blessed with something from up above.

A quintessential tale like none,
She is my queen, the dream I chase,
Even if it can be quarrelsome,
I won’t quail or won’t hide my face.

I’m not qualified to bask in grace,
But I will rote in the next quote,
She is my queen, the dream I chase,
Printed in quartz like notes I wrote.

It’s everything there ever was,
Like a quilt of guilt I embrace,
I went after her all because…
She is my queen, the dream I chase.
