Poetry Contest

This writing challenge is a poetry experiment, and perhaps for some, a personal quest to unlock the full potential of the creative mind.
The challenge being offered is this: What poetic heights or depths can one reach by abstaining from pornography and masturbation for 30 days?

What are the rules?

The NoFap rules: https://youtu.be/SlHH6TRaJY0

The poetry comp rules and the way to poetic cleansing:
1. This NoFap poetry comp is open to both male and female fappers.
2. Each poet must set the benchmark by writing their first poem, whilst their mind is deep in a post mono-climatic shudder cloud... in true spirit of the challenge poets may choose to conduct the experiment using pornography to assist in lowering the benchmark set by their first entry.
3. Poets must then abstain from exposing their minds to pornography and jerking off, polishing the pearl, slapping the salami, buffing the muffin, feeding the chooks, spanking the monkey for the remainder of the competition.  During this time of abstinence, poets must periodically write another 3 poems (approx. 1 poem per week) until they reach a maximum total of 4 poems, including the benchmark fap poem.
4. For bonus points a poet may choose to write a collaboration for 1 of their 4 entries to demonstrate their willpower to resist impure thoughts and sexual innuendo.
5. All 4 poetry entries will be considered to determine the best of the best NoFap poets.
6. This is a writing challenge, so no old poems.
7. Poems can be written in any form, length, genre and subject, except... NO EROTICA!

Needless to say I will be joining you along this lonely road, so I wish you all the best for this month of poetic fapping abstinence.

I am literally going to hate you, your mother, your country and your little dog too... but yeah this might be beneficial.

I’m in.

So just to be clear, we can write anything except erotica? Even the first poem? I wasn’t too sure on that.

These sweet NoFap walls shall not be tainted with erotica.  You must be strong, sister, and resist writing unclean thoughts in your first poem.

Thank you for taking the challenge, Missy.  I love your country too.

ill`clarity

something inside pulls,
gravitational
hendrix hymns part and kiss the dampened sky
a leisure stroll through the gardens
of naugh – ty, realism
a divine morph
junked into the unknown
I feel a sentiment coming undone
it blisters on a wart
of menial regret
far from a good cleansing;
in the morning
nothing changes but clarity

So no pornography and no self love. I can do that. What about sex with another party? Is that out of the question? Cause if so....don’t think it will happen.

The NoFap rules are kinda sitting on the fence about no sex... but abstaining from sex as well could give you another edge.  Good luck with the sex party.

I’ve Already Won….

I can tell you this
from years without bliss
that paint colors are far more exciting;
with thirty percent off,
coupons—why scoff?
Gloss finish, is the most inviting.

I like to stock up
for when I erupt
with a need and an urge to refinish
the furniture loads
found on the roads—
the trash piles, never diminish.

And then there’s the part
where he ripped out my heart
and I found that my husband was gay;
I divorced him real fast
two years in the past
and finally said “No friggin’ way.”

So now I’m alone
and far more at home
with no one’s baggage but mine;
I have no more drive
‘cause my hormones, too, died,
but I’m actually better than fine.

I’m not really missing
the touching and kissing
and my poems aren’t much different than before;
some of them suck,
and I don’t give a fuck—
I still write ‘em and then paint, some more.

Jeezeus! If this the result after 30 days of NoFap I better run a 30 Day Slap the Monkey Challenge to reverse the effects.

Confessional @ 1am

I'd have you in for tea, but you've seen just how I live
So I ask you, “Night, tell me, is that really all you've got to give?”
Spastic inclinations formed by drastic elations
You’ve got me talking in quotations as I lay in exudation
I can’t pinpoint just when it was that I lost power
But this once bittersweet has all but turned to sour
I swallowed up my dignity and glanced upon your shadow
Then I woke up in France inside a rundown chateau
As she twisted her head to the side with a quirk
"How have you been?" she said with a smirk
I can see right through your eyes as if they’re made of glass
That award winning grin, she angles with class
I've left it, as they say, inside the hands of fate
So the next time I choose teams I'll be sure you participate
This difficult climb, not for the faint of heart
Let me stop you right there before you even start
I've run away again, till I’m lost out of sight
Holding on for one more day, and maybe one more night…
So here is my confessional, I’m well aware it’s 1 A.M.
But my eyes just will not close and my thoughts refuse to mend…

Thank you for the entries so far, thanks to those who have read the rules and those who haven't, thank you for the drama, and thanks to those who don't take themselves too seriously and those who do.  Good luck.

Guilty Pleasures

Compact discs rattle
in boxes with
each bump—tires
hitting potholes, driving,
driving
somewhere
I know not—perhaps
away from myself
again.

I found them, roadside, the
music—
discards
with the remains of a life, free
for the taking.

I took them.

Nearly two hundred.

Reputable artists,
none my style,
all great for resale, except
Barry—

I put Mr. Manilow
into the coveted spot on the dash
where only the cool artists
are allowed to sing to me, on
the road.

I reclaimed a bit of youth
and memories, with
a wry smile that sometimes
A weekend in New England
isn’t so bad
after all.
