🎼A Favorite Song
( a Sonnet )
🎼A boy dropped in a dime and chose B2,
The bubbles in the juke lit up the place.
He grabbed his date & show’d me what to do,
I swayed with love’s abandon on my face.
🎼To hear our favorite song for the first time,
’Twas never meant to be the one we heard.
To dance w’ perfect guy in perfect rhyme,
I listen’d to, lip-syncing ev’ry word.
🎼The way he studied me in like was such;
He loved the way the music fill’d my dress.
We moved around without a single touch;
A curious reaction nonetheless.
🎼We often change the words of how it’s sung;
This song will always be our number one.

Whether Here or Above
There is a mystery behind your eyes
Like something I’ve never seen or heard
It’s something beyond my comprehension
It’s something that I can’t find the right words
There is a clandestine tinge to your smile
When your lips move the way that they do
That’s when I long to kiss them and caress them
Because there’s a little secret incitement about you
Perhaps it’s the way you say my name
It brings joy and excitement to my heart
Then again, you’ve always done that to me
Since all those years ago right from the start
Maybe we’re two old souls reincarnated
Traveling through time to define our love
Going through the centuries like we are fated
Destined to find each other whether here or above
