Howling

Heed the call my sweet little pet,
I bet you will love to go into the night,
Shed your fear of the dark or any threat,
And I’ll show the ecstasy of my bite.
Look into my eyes my lovely dear,
And I will peer into your aching soul,
Behold the sight of a rapturous effect,
Discovering a hunger you can’t control.
I’ll alleviate any yearning and burning,
At the turning you’ll discover a new bliss,
It’s an experience you’ve never had before,
When you feel the fangs from my kiss.
Come with me under the pale moon light,
Shed your clothes and all that holds you back,
You’ll feel the night air caressing your skin,
As we find a prey together and then attack.
Explore these new pleasures of the flesh,
When it’s fresh, raw, warm and still alive,
Set the animal within you free and you’ll see,
At the howling you’ll feel a new desire and drive.

The Gorge

Recall stalls...

-

At pressing
impressions
peanut butter
dusty
spice shake
hills;
and chills
-shrill-
scythes up the spine
It was an August fever
109

It was an orange
sundried tomato
gorge;
And I committed so much
optical gluttony

Arched
and clenched
in raspy grasps
of anarchy
Imbibing in flesh
crossing scalded
thresholds
of spirit and clothes

Giving grimy fingernails
to the lead
of unhallowed
undertow -
In a land
of no water

Spied by speckles
of tiger fire
sand

Play, play, play...
fringe stage
arcane
nameless
band

Slash me in
metal distortion
contorting
thrash
like a cat o' nine

Lecherous libations
heavy, heavy, heavy...
heaving heartbeats
haywire
hot, hot, hot...

Heat rash
bonfires

Sweated potations
swing off
limbs;
Cremation within
seared consciences
tan toned backs
naked and raked

Trances dance
through red pepper
lawless
torrid Twilight's
horrid
euphoric
chorus

Hidden Temptress

She loves the way every fire burns
With her eyes shining as bright as
The molten hot lava and the desire
Dripping from her lips. Her topaz

Colored eyes, watching your every
Move from the dark shadows. She
Is putting you in an endless reverie
Without any grips on your reality

As sirens do when sailors are lost
At sea. She is like a fiery temptress,
For she knows her worth and cost
To men, but she will attempt this

Try of changing everything because
While most are one-night types of
Women she will always have claws
That sink in deep forever. Her love

Is stronger than most people realize.
She hides the truth you do not want
To see in those hypnotizing eyes.
She lurks in the body she will haunt.

I am honored to be chosen as runner up alongside McEltic. Congratulations AtoMikbomb and thanks FromTheAsh for hosting. I hope you do not mind telling me which one of my pieces it was (since I submitted two). I really enjoyed being a part of this competition and I enjoyed reading everyone else's pieces. Such amazing talent here!!

You earned your place on that stage, eswaller! I was particularly struck by your 2nd entry. While both entries were well done, it was your 2nd entry that took the stage for me.

A well deserved trophy indeed! You have a true sense of style and for me this one jumped out as a winner in every sense. Congratulations!
