Poetry Contest Description
Write a letter to your past or future self
I would like everyone to write a letter to their-selves.
Options:
A letter to yourself 5 years ago
A letter to your self 5 years in the future
Do this as openly as you like!
I am currently doing a project with some children aged 10 - 16 years old and I will be asking them to do this also - so it will be great to see what you come up with! (If suitable and with permission, I will share your piece with the children as an example for them)

A Map into Your Future
Go ahead and open your journals and calendars,
And turn to the pages five years from before,
Are you where you always wanted to be?
Do you remember the promises you swore?
Make a pact with yourself and remember it well,
In fact write them down and turn them to goals,
So that you’ll have a map into your future,
So that you’ll be the one at the controls.
When obstacles arise be wise and revise your design,
Strategize and maneuver your way toward your objective,
But most important of all don’t get discouraged,
Read your plan every day to make sure it’s effective.
Letters to yourself and diary entries are reflections,
Of who you are, your dreams and who you aspire to be,
But think about where you want to be in five years,
And ask yourself, how will I reach my destiny?

I am am from the future the year 2017 i know this is hard to understand please listen to me your year is 2007 you will start to believe me when read this to the end it will all become clear i hope you listen.
You are about to get a message from a woman called Susan it wont be a big message it will be hello and welcome i hope to be friends here on this sight and the sight will be yearbook.
you will reply nice to receive my first message on here, i am happy to be friends with you here, over the next little bit of time you will spend more and more time with her and before you know it you will be in love with her, now i know you will probably say that is not a bad thing well i am here to warn you of the havoc that it is going to have on your future, she is going to have an affair and leave you for dead and you are going to spend at least the next ten years trying to get over her, i know this is going to come as a shook to you but take your own advice don't even talk to her as this is the future you talking and you will fall for her please be strong and resists the argue to even open it, i know you will be better off in the future if you listen to your future self,
i know it might sound shocking to you that your future self would care enough to stop your self from the mess that you are going to get yourself into you will break the law you will get drunk and not care what you do and i know that i am not like that and i know that you will do the right thing so the future self will never know this pain that i am talking about trust me it is huge it will tear you apart,
i will sign off now and say one last thing to you don't be stupid your heart can only take so much punishment
