Poetry Contest

Write a poem on the rising sun and the beautiful nature
for a moment there
I thought the sky was just for me
figured it knew how much I loved the colors
and half a blood red sun swimming in the ocean
is quite the sight for beholding

it's funny how the clouds
always seem to know what I'm thinking
and arrange themselves accordingly
as if to solidify my thoughts

I saw a band of rain sweep by in the distance
and the leaves on the trees
took the hits of the droplets with gratitude
then helped churn out some life
for us all

Spark, puff, drop, dust
Science conspired a god
Sharp blade and sheathe touched
It climbed from sea to mud
In dark night, nude, blind
The sand on cold feet rests
In stark white the moonlight
And seaweed on its chest
The light it dies, no wait! it hides!
For something greater comes
The fair east burns in flame divine
And soon reveals the sun
The sun reveals the sea's true hue
And all else magnified
The god, he turns around
Behold, a garden paradise
From sand to shrub and further up
That fire inspires life
The birds and bugs great songs erupt
Such music fills the sky
Where darkness and trite Luna danced
Was mystery and disguised
But Helios come to flush them out
And give Great Man his prize

I am up to 64 trophies.
I just use these boxes to FORMAT my poem and then
I post it under my poetry.
When someone else is up to 64 trophies
then I can resume competing....
until then....I write poetry
to soothe me.......

Communing With Nature

http://static.flickr.com/150/334102278_21942a6083.jpg

Driving down the country roads
at break of dawn just passing time,
as Sol is slowly peeping from behind
the curtain of greens— slowly changing
into magnificent golden and amber colors.
We try to race the slow moving clouds
trying to escape the city traffic grid,
trying to race time itself—
to somehow ease our pain.

We’ve been driving down
the same country roads
every now and then:
just to relax and commune with nature,
to release our tensions,
and free us from worries
away from the rat race
even for a single moment in time.

Nature’s own way of harmony
is a perfect blend of symphony—
the cold morning breeze
playing with your long black hair
as it touches your lovely face,
the green scenery along the way,
the verdant hills with blooming
wildflowers – their fragrance
filling the air with serenity,
occasionally broken
by the chirping birds,
and the glistening waterfalls
cascading through the hillsides
Ah, what a beautiful day
what more can we ask for?

Driving down the country roads
just passing time
Simply driving and loving it,
hoping the road never ends…

          Morning Glory

Mind wakes up in the day’s untamed air of pristine clarity
Magnolia in serene blooms, clearing webs of inner calamity
Mild pain spreads from each beat- life’s a smile-coated journey
Mixed wear of looks beam out, a mish mash of a fused identity
Mongolian eyelids of swollen spathy pillows, soft and puffy
Married with dark hues of a short frame, a Dravidian authenticity
Myriad thoughtful eye-mounds, tucked in with flowers of divinity
Minutes of self-talks in rippling resonance for a unified vivacity
Mirroring eye sees a freed mind of a singing skylark in ecstasy
Morning virginity vanishes to hot-noon grown-ups, spoilt brats?
Meaningful spins of Earth with both opportunity and adversity.

In This Place

In the quiet,
cocooned by the night.
I am hypnotize,
by the stars in my sight.

Fireflies,
dance around me,
littered across the grass.
They dance to the rhythm,
of the night's critter orchestra
in full blast.

What is this feeling
of freedom?
Why am I so calm?
This feel's so relaxing,
its unbelievable,
I can't understand.

Come with me, and listen
to the symphony of little animals
mating in the dark,
I enjoy this sense of ease,
embraced by the light of the moon,
which fills my heart.

What is this feeling
of freedom?
What is this strange tranquility?
I just lay here resting,
and submerge myself in this new found,
serenity.

The Show (haiku)

We sink with the rise
Marionettes pulled by rays
Bow in honeyed light

TIMBER VIEW

Country living is a lazy timber view
from an old lawn chair.
With a fast clear creek that runs
through, turning and twisting.
Its rushing sound plays steady
in my head.
Gray squirrel barking at me,
red wings singing their summer song
with the movement of the tall grass.
Birch tree’s stand out white and naked
from the other’s waving in the breeze.
My gaze swam around to the distant
movement of feeding deer,
as the sun let itself down
from sitting over head until it looked
me in the face and went on behind my lazy
timber view.
