not to be won by caresses,
nor to be silenced by threats;
not to be sucked in by kisses,
nor be interred by defeats;
stand i alone on this mountain,
while, all around me, the throng,
eager to dry up my fountain,
weans, of its lyrics, my song.
 
not to be bought by compromise,
nor be outsmarted by stealth;
not to fall blind by hypnosis,  
nor stand a victim of wealth;
steady, my head on my torso;
anchored, my feet on the ground;
luminescence from my flambeau
makes life and living profound.
