spirit flower

                     
take me to the water's edge                            
let me be subdued                            
                            
kiss my lips with a poppies taint                            
& i will slumber inside my soul                            
resting for a thousand years                            
                            
with no sunrises to wake me                            
i wander untethered from my body                            
as the stars silently call                      
within my celestial wanderings                            
                            
with gentle pulses of light                            
they communicate their deep love                            
for me their Earthly host                            
                            
born of the cosmos                            
& sent here to spread a message of hope                            
for universal travelers                            
                            
they say meditate                      
let your third eye open                            
& within your Tao                      
find your center                            
                   
balancing light with dark                            
let neither override you                            
                            
within your spirit travel to New Delhi                            
& witness fields of poppies                            
let opium's tranquility wash over you
