It started as just another outcross/possible job interview.

Skelly, forty one
a particular asset
to the outreach group
known for a particular
sensitivity to needs

A bit of a tech
by trade, he was more known for
his dedication
to the family despite
not having "contributed"

a dreamer with a
quiet sadness, seldom joy
found deep others eyes
giving joy with hands and tongue
finding life in others cries

Tasmine, thirty one
was hauntingly familiar
though they never met.
her mind and eyes encircled
his mind at first sight... again?

works with animals,
computers, was often in
nature and all the stars
shown down, gave her their blessings.
she walked in beauty always

Her dark auburn hair
dyed black in adolescence
now in her thirties
she lets nature have its way
the most beautiful woman
.

the attraction was immediate, if only they remembered each other it would have gone better for him...
some hours into forever she made the first move to indicate her interest in more than just career or conversation
as was his want, she was already deeply taken with fulfilled passion long before her clothes were off...
once they were, his wrist encountered her skin...
suddenly there was a piercing sound, and the gem started to cycle through all the colors of the rainbow, most of them in the spectrum of the rose
his passing thought about how could he love someone he just met, that had only happened once before....
his next thought is "fuck... i'm dead"
... then the darker shades
"you were not born with the name 'Tasmine' were you?"

"I didn't think it was really you, i see you in every woman i get close to..."

"I've loved you for the past eighteen years, never thinking that i would ever see you again, i always wondered where you went, and wondered why i survived 'gone to see the Morrigan'... after all, i was the only one"

"'Gone to see the Morrigan' i do not understand... what does Norse mythology have to do with this, She was a chooser of the slain, a harvester of battles"

"it more has to do with conflating her totem bird and her being a chooser of the slain. the raven being a symbol of death, as well as evoking a particular woman in the mind of the first to do it... his notes were... extensive... you see, he wanted no one else to fall down the rabbit hole he fell into."

"Because i've been dead for 18 years, and this damn thing waits until i touch you again to kill me for my sins from so long ago."

"The Family has a ... low tolerance for predators... and these Gems take a dim view of it as well... and they occasionally get the chance to exercise their ability to do something about it"

"I would say so, it's why i 'gone to see the Morrigan' but in all honesty, i was not given the choice to wait until you were old enough... i never knew until after you dissapeared, i did not understand until way after when the gem was trying to tell me when it first touched your skin. You lied to me, and it is finally going to kill me, now, tonite."

"I have always loved you... but that isn't what is important, tell the family to scan you, and show them that peculiar scar on your wrist, they will take both of us home... visit me from time to time, try to remember me, fondly if you can..."

a whirring sound from his wrist tells him that the little tableau will soon be over... he kisses her deeply, takes the last most heartfelt hug of his life, wishing that he had ever given true pleasure to the one he loved....
shoves her as far as he can, aiming for a soft landing, jumping as far away as he can... before lightning and all the fires of hell find him
Tasmine looks at what remains of this man claimed to know her before she knew her self...
she has no idea what to make of this,
even though he placed his death firmly at her feet, it was merely factual, almost devoid of emotion, devoid of all but the most abiding love that she had ever heard...
She is still sitting there, naked, lost and alone when family security gets there...
They look at her, nonplussed...
she seams older than the usual victim found near a predators smoking corpse.... did his gem misinterpet something... ohh well, something for I.T. to figure out....
Wait... Wasn't he the only one to survive "Gone to see the Morrigan"...
they try to revive her... to get her to notice them, wrapping her in a blanket... and call a family psyche....
He recognises her.... and see's him.
"Eighteen years later, and she still gets you... Ach Laddie, freedom at last did o'oer take you"
