Yellow Ribbon

Verse 1-
I was walking down the street today
watching the people walk by
everybody a little different in their own way
this one girl caught my eye
she was walkin by herself
I don't know where she was goin
but she looked about 7 months along
and she was wearin a ring
I asked where has your husband gone
she said he's off fightin a war
for me and you
that's why

Chorus-
She wears a yellow ribbon for everyone to see
she sits at home
missin that mp
she prays every night
that every thing will be alright
waitin for the day
she hears her baby's on the way

Verse 2-
She's a mom sittin at home
her little girls all grown
mmm...out on her own
she still remembers her with pink little bows all up in her hair
promising mommy
I won't ever go no where
now the latest picture she's starring at
is that grown little girl
wearin combat gear
riffle by her side
she cried when she said goodbye
oh

Chorus-
She wears a yellow ribbon for everyone to see
she sits at home
missin that mp
she prays every night
that every thing will be alright
waitin for the day
she hears her baby's on the way

Verse 3-
Oh she's a mother
she's a wife
she's some bodies sister
somebody's whole life
oh

Chorus-
She wears a yellow ribbon for everyone to see
she sits at home
missin that mp
she prays every night
that every thing will be alright
waitin for the day
she hears her baby's on the way
