I wanna cut my soul in a million pieces just to form a constellation to light your way home;

Starting with you.
I ❤️that you get cold when it’s below 30 degrees out but you still use the fan. I love that it never takes you forever to order a sandwich. I love that you get attentive whenever I speak like my words are wisdom. I ❤️that after I spend day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. I ❤️that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely. I am saying this now because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

You and I
The days we taught ourselves together
lie laughing, windswept amongst the heather,
so proud and strong of our founded path
we face it all with loves firm grasp.
Our hush can calm all trembling hands,
hold still the coals on burning sand.
Despite the light that's only found
on nights when oceans surely drown,
it tumbles out from spoken tongues
a song with all its promise made
and words that find themselves a way
to say such tender thoughts each day.
And so when silence comes to fall,
a seated bond were no voice calls.
Then what of love should this poet speak
if not of soft-flushed reddened cheeks.

Labios Españoles
“Estoy enamorado de ti, querida,” eso es lo que te dije.
El sol brillaba a través de la casa de verano.
Tus labios españoles eran tan bonito como un clavel rojo.
“Yo también te amo,” eso es lo que me dijiste.
Te sentaste a mi lado en una silla de madera.
Sentí tu abrazo apasionado en la mañana.
Llevabas un vestido largo de satén amarillo.
Y tenías un bonito ramo en tu mano izquierda.
Te miré durante un rato y luego dije que sí.
“Te amaré y apreciaré por el resto de mi vida,”
Esa fue la promesa que hicimos en el jardín.
Y luego besé suavemente tus labios españoles.

Sleepless nights with the clock ticking by
I’ve been grounded for so long with no access to the sky
It seemed rather destined that I had met you
Seeds planted long ago had finally emerged to bloom.
I fell. I fell so hard
Nothing could have stopped this
You’ve managed to lower my guard
My heart yearns for your touch and your kiss.
You’ve reignited my slumbering passion
In marvelous ways that I could never have imagined
You have a way of speaking directly to my soul
Your love had seeped through to fill in the black hole.

Snowfall
The sunlight peeks through the clouds
A subtle gleam in the pristine white
You add a dash of colour with your locks of chocolate brown
Your smile is enough to set my soul alight.
The first snow is beginning to fall
They leave a wet caress upon your honeyed skin
I’m left intoxicated more so than by alcohol
As I yearn for our journey to begin.
I’m looking forward to the snowfall
Your love has gotten me through it all
What once was dark has now turned bright
My frozen heart has melted with your light.
My darling love, you will rise above
I now see the beauty that winter provides
For my sensitive skin, you act as my glove
And keep me warm even through the coldest nights.

Every Reason to Love
It was when he truly looked at me that I knew
I was falling head over heels for him. It is not
About the person who makes you feel butterflies
In your stomach, but about the one person who
Calms your heart and spirit. It was when the knot
In my mind became untangled and my dark skies
Became light again. I felt it right there in my bones
That he is my person. He is the reason I can breathe
And become myself all over again. It is never about
The person who broke my heart, but the sharp stones
That become loosened as there is something beneath
The surface of their rough exterior. I have no doubt
That he is the one I am loving through the mundane
And rainy days. He is in the forefront of my mind when
Everything else fades away. He is pulling me to the shore
When I am drowning and is the one who keeps me sane
In this world. With his love that comes in through the door
I am safe. With his gentleness coming in like sunshine
I know I am the lucky one. He is my smile when there is
Darkness. He knows I feel secure whenever he is around
And little does he know that we have been intertwined
Since day one. I love him, even with one word that says
So much as his presence always keeps me on solid ground.
