I've been here on DUP for some time now and I don't know if my poetry has become any better but its become easier to write most times which is a wonderful thing. I'm over 57 now and I've started to think about time lately. There really isn't all that much given to each of us and as you grow older you know that time is winding down on you. It has added a different aspect to my work. I really enjoy reading the stuff the other poets here on DUP publish to give my mind a little bit of a workout and just for the sheer entertainment you can get out of something really well done. I would still call myself a beginner when it comes to writing in this form and I haven't schooled myself whatsoever but I don't really see that as a bad thing. I can write whatever I want without worrying about all the technicalities of the art form. In reality I just hope that once in a while I write something that gives a person or two a good feeling or a second thought or two. That's enough for me.
