Poet Introduction
My mother wrote poems when she was younger, mostly about love. Later she returned to poetry to express thoughts and desires that she'd squelched over time. She passed the torch to me (her daughter) when she entered treatment.

Mother (Janice AKA Nizana) had an interesting life for 45 years. Writing on DUP was therapeutic and encouraging to her. She published a few poems in magazines and a collection of new poems entitled Songs of My Leaving on Kindle format and available on Amazon.
When she entered treatment for addiction, she asked me (Lauryn), her daughter, to take the lead in posting but still sharing her writing here as well. Upon her death I am keeping the site alive in her honor.
