Poet Introduction
I use my writing as therapy, to decipher my mind & the trauma I've been through. I hope that it can help others too. It's a confusing, dark & scary world and writing helps me navigate that.
About Me
Read Full
First and foremost I'm a human being, just like everybody else.
I am also an artist.
I am a musician, a writer & a photographer.
I love to read, watch films and play video games. Anything to escape my reality when it starts to feel like my walls are closing in.
I also have this part of me that society doesn't accept so readily. I am mentally ill.
I have bi polar disorder, ADHD, BDD, OCD, generalised anxiety, specific phobia disorder and an untreatable sleeping disorder.
The one I have the most issues with though is that I am also Autistic. Something that is a part of who I am, it cannot be cured by a magic pill, or cognitive therapies or a lobotomy. It's a part of me, however none of these define me.
I write to escape, I write to heal, to purge my emotions. I also write to educate and to confront. To promote awareness about invisible illnesses and to hopefully breakdown the walls that stigma and stereotypes have built around us.
I hope to find a community that can understand me through written words when verbalising my internal battles is not viable.
I look forward to reading your ink!!
