HAPPYDAVE

My name is Happy Dave.  I am a writer, actor, improvisor and stage performer.  I was born and raised in Chicago until the age of 8, when we moved to Elmhurst Illinois.   I suffered massive cutlure shock and did not adjust well to life in the suburbs!  My teenage years were filled fear, anger and confusion.  I felt alone and alienated. My family life was dysfunctional and I never really fit in anywhere.  I took up a career as a juvenile delinquent and help started the Punk Rock movement at my High School.  I guess that isn't something most people would be proud of but my inner conflicts as a youth forced me to overcome those adversities and become the person I am today.  I have always had this inner need to challenge people for better or worse.  I like to sculpt and build things I am also a professional body piercer.  And occasionally do gore special effects for low buget B-Movies.  I have an IMDB page and I write a novelty column for KILTER Magazine called ASK HAPPY.    I made it to college, wrote and printed my first book of poems.  I submitted my book to the college literary journal comittee and they said I was too negative and depressing, that didn't stop me from writing or submitting my work.  Ha! I have been published in Criminal Class Press, Kilter Magazine and I now have three self published poem books.  I also teach an online goal setting course that I have written and use for all of my personal goals.
