incoming storm
There's a category 2 cyclone off the coast, not that far from where I am. I don't know what to think about it. I'm sure as hell not excited. My brain keeps telling me it's nothing compared to the cyclones I grew up with in Northern Australia, where thunder would shake the air so violently it could shatter glass.
I've seen trees on fire and thought they were beautiful.
I've seen my parents scramble for sand bags, only for the flood waters to stop at the edge of our veranda. I've stood at the edge of it and wished I could swim in it, just for the novelty.

Frosty Mornings
Sun shiny golden
Days brightness turning to snow
Storms havoc creates.
February flies
Into Marches windy wishes
For Springs returning.
For now nature brims
Baleful ice frosted mornings
Magic by arctic.

Snow
It drifts down, falling heavy, sucking the warmth of life away, it is cold, silent and pure
Slow, change, witnessing white perception of terrible inclinations, wondrous impressions
Freeze, depart, cold and deadly
Serene, heartfelt, warmth of blanket
Everything fades away today and I am left realising did we ever cast the noose too soon?
Did we ever wish for more than snow?

Freeze, depart, cold and deadly
Serene, heartfelt, warmth of blanket
Everything fades away today and I am left realising did we ever cast the noose too soon?

the clouds
the clouds
were busy
shape
shifting,
forgetting
how to fly,
their sense
of direction
was over,
their
languages
disappeared,
they opened
their mouths
and only
rain formed,
taking time
to fall
to
the ground,
even with
no intentions,
they weighted
the earth
with their
lost voices.

the blue of his shirt
the blue
of his
shirt
matched
the color
of the
ocean's
hands,
watching
the wind
fill
his sails,
he floated
on the
waters
like
an empty
shell,
he was
pushed
further out
before
he was
swallowed
up.

Between Hurricanes
There's nothing romantic
about dying together.
There are those minutes
where one goes first,
leaving the other to suffer
the agony of what they loved most
is gone.
Staring at the corpse
of love removed,
and then waiting their turn.
Morbid then; I'd want you
to die before me.
Your pain would cease first
and it would bleed into me,
as I held you tightly.
I'd then die doubly weighted,
with our goodbyes
and emotions turmoiled.
And that's okay.
I'd cross my arms
over my chest ...
about dying together.
There are those minutes
where one goes first,
leaving the other to suffer
the agony of what they loved most
is gone.
Staring at the corpse
of love removed,
and then waiting their turn.
Morbid then; I'd want you

Your pain would cease first
and it would bleed into me,
as I held you tightly.
I'd then die doubly weighted,
with our goodbyes
and emotions turmoiled.
And that's okay.
I'd cross my arms
over my chest ...

The arc of the pine— with Thepalestrider
The virulent tempest
In the cruel blade of midday
Now rages forth unyielding
An ovation in grey
The crease of the fescue
The arc of the pine
Bend and break before it
In a most crooked line
Mantled eclipses
With sable designs
Spread shadow like poison
Through trembling vines
Now dusk is no refuge
For the storm still proceeds
With lightning that rends
Both the sky and the trees
The rocks split asunder
Where the fire takes hold
And the world burns...

night and day
Day & Night
It was still dark morning when I left
the nightclub, a place where one can
be sure not to meet reality
I saw a river of people coming out of
the subway filling streets with heavy
steps and murmur
as daylight came, neon light shivered
and became ugly words on buildings
reality had blinded them
At the end of the day, as night sunk
like a blanket on towns, people were
going home from workplaces
The neon light came back on tell
a story of an alternative where all
is fake, like Ronaldo's scoring...

Storm
In the night your electricity
flashes upon my vein's doorsteps.
Your thunder's roar roams
my brain's craving cortex.
You are here.
No longer protected by just near.
Rain thrashes my ground,
liquid lust.
Flashing, roaring, drenching.
Invitationless.
Away blows my dress,
naked plains of flesh.
To receive your storm.
My deep soul severely
transformed.
flashes upon my vein's doorsteps.
Your thunder's roar roams
my brain's craving cortex.
You are here.
No longer protected by just near.
Rain thrashes my ground,
liquid lust.
Flashing, roaring, drenching.
Invitationless.
Away blows my dress,
naked plains of flesh.
To receive your storm.
My deep soul severely
transformed.

blown away
the sun lost his dominance
as thick clouds bullied him into shadow
turning afternoon to complete darkness
no thunder...no lightning...no rain
only the gods breath in full fury
& things meant to stand tall & proud became horizontal
abasing themselves in the face of it
fallen trees & sundered limbs covered the streets
those caught unaware
{among them...my daughter...}
forced to dodge flying debris
we had no warning
& with one loud boom...power gave out
my tiny basement with its crowding...

atmospheric inhales
Lightning cracks
rain sprinkles down
cool and gentle
the atmosphere trembles
in anticipation
I want to feel
the windblown bent
of the trees like I'm one of them
at the mercy of the elements
trying to sweep me off my feet
rain sprinkles down
cool and gentle
the atmosphere trembles
in anticipation
I want to feel
the windblown bent
of the trees like I'm one of them

Dark and Stormy
You lure me in with your deep
And dark mysteries. You keep
Pulling me into your storm and
I want to stay. With your hands
All over my body you keep me
Grounded. Within your sea
Green and stormy eyes I am
Safe. You open me like a clam
That can be found on the ocean
Floor. Every bad opinion and notion
Of you goes flying out the door.
You bring me back to the shore
Where it all began when I first
Loved you. The colors that burst
Apart at the seams and you...
And dark mysteries. You keep
Pulling me into your storm and
I want to stay. With your hands
All over my body you keep me
Grounded. Within your sea
Green and stormy eyes I am
Safe. You open me like a clam
That can be found on the ocean
Floor. Every bad opinion and notion
Of you goes flying out the door.
You bring me back to the shore
Where it all began when I first
Loved you. The colors that burst
Apart at the seams and you...
