The Lord of the Poems
He scrubs off the dust
Stock-piling on the shelves of his mind
His battles with writer’s block
Has disrupted and crippled him blind
He perfects his deserted wooden partner
Freeing her of idle hands imprisoned in webs
So many masterpieces were birthed on her mahogany
Stitched together with his will and the ink of his quill’s threads
He ignites his candle
Indenting its motives on her corner
He fishes his pond for his thoughts
Never quite understanding his bait is a foreigner
He opens the gates
That has been...

The Window
††
Cobwebs draped on the window lay motionless,
A glimpse from the full moon manipulates the night,
The shadow figures in the long hallway content now,
Knowing this is the place where they came, and they died…
†
The door to the main room hangs on warped hinges,
That have rusted clear through most its screws,
The haunting clatter still coming from the basement,
Like something below strangely calling to you…
†
It is eerie inside here and the stench still exists,
Even though it happened so long ago,
The floor creaks beneath each...

Magic Mirror who
tells all...tell me

Lady of them all

for you know I
cannot tell a lie
My Dear Lady

the ugliest bitch

The Suffering Of Prometheus
Fire, begotten and adored
A gift of giants better suited as gods
Alas, a few denied and abhorred
Against the will of better deities and bitter odds
Welcome forth the guiding light
Culture and society birthed from the flame
The truth buried and hidden out of plain sight
Though those sordid few still anguished by his name
Of wings and claws, bondage and hate
This bird of prey offers onto him his plight
Succumbed by his betrayal he suffers this fate
The propagation of kindoms on mountains of might
A gift of giants better suited as gods
Alas, a few denied and abhorred
Against the will of better deities and bitter odds
Welcome forth the guiding light
Culture and society birthed from the flame

Magic In White
From where i'm now sat
Within my balconied flat
I espy just beyond my windowsill
The ruins of the castle, on the hill
Rooftops below, are now coated in white
From the extra snowfall, overnight
Where the snow has fallen, for hundreds of years
The silence lies heavy, like frozen tears
Pirouetting snowflakes, natures ballet, Arabesque
A snow filled sky, a wonderland, so picturesque
Still the castle ruins, look down from the hill
That once had life, but now lies still
Where once kings, and queens, allegedly presided

When the well runs dry...
They...
come
in
droves
to partake
Take...
for
granted
mind’s
bountiful seed
See...
those
livin’
lies at stake
Forsake...
the
innocence
of pure need
Needless...
sorrows
abound
space thru time
Enslaved...
to
the
mindset,
shackles freed
Yet...
where
go
leaders
if
the flock dies
Bare...
witness
to
the
suffrage

the
well, ...

Zeus.
I just wonder where he came from
Who decided that he was to be top God
Who, if any, were the others on the
Election ballot?
On what sort of basis were
The others selected?
True some of them failed miserably
Sometimes not their fault as Zeus
Could and did change camps
On many occasions
Greek mythology...
Fascinating stuff.

Nothing's Forever
Nothing's forever, not even the ephemeral myths of our ghosts and gods
Omnipresent revenants, the dead among us, will die again by all the odds
The starry heavens will fade back to black as the planets wilt and crumble
Higher realms will remain unfound, except in the moot words we mumble
In every empty mirror, there are clues, that life with time is a misdirection
Nothing's the simple sempiternal truth, we might surmise in our reflection
Given to light from dark, we're the passed and present; but we are neither
'til the skies burn dry, we're random...

I Read
I've read so many stories growing up
Where woman thrived being dragons
Coiled around towers, fighting those who would be suiters
Where the princess lives as a frog because she loves a frog
I've read stories where woman were warriors
Never taking a knee and never turning away
Where their loved ones depended on their strength
I have these stories hoarded around my heart
My own personal dragons hoard
And sometimes before bed I tell them to myself
To remind myself that I should count my story amongst theirs
I am a warrior, a fighter, a poet ...
