Once Upon a Time,
Dashing all about the Peloponnese
Or perched upon a Thessalian peak
Were the ancient gods the Greeks tried to please
When things weren't so puritanically bleak.
Back then the gods were never boring,
Sort of like dysfunctional Super Friends,
With their fighting, fucking, and exploring
As they struck a blow for classical trends!
Now, the Gay they've Ben comes from a tube
And their sandals lay idle at the spa.
Though Greek, their intercourse now needs a lube
And their virtue, undone, like a cheerleader's bra.
Gone are all of their...

Metamorphoses
Now Orion arises east
And the Moon is under Pisces
Which was an underwater beast
Of Mediterranean crises,
But now in heaven it still swims
Keeping company with dead gods
Who mostly had superior limbs
Like Orion's over developed quads,
Used for striding interstellar space
Where the gods maintain some glory,
And if they had their lungs and face
They'd treat us to old oratory...
Regarding strange transfigurations
Up into modern constellations!

Weather Report
At first, I feared December would find the Muses on hiatus, particularly Urania, barred from her earthbound devotees due to the increased nimbostratus activity that the month is typically guilty of. But Quadrature Luna, she of gentler tides, has been a fetching sight these past few nights through gaps in the sportive clouds of Autumn's final weeks. Urania and Luna were often in cahoots. Luna in actinic skirmish with the playful mist as Urania inveigled Orion to rise theatrically in the east, as if the old boy were engaged in a boundless frolic with our coquettish satellite as she strove...

Sugar Skulls & Dragons
Bat wings emerge
From the heart's aortas
Caged inside a red rose
Metallic skeletal frame
Busting out of the box
A Pandora Aurora
Of sweeping blue green
Blazing fiery flames
Flying with the flow
Soaring high diving low
Excited to take flight
Into the Babylon night
Midnight yearning to be desired
By untamed aquamarine fire
Destined to sunset amongst
Serpents & Latins
Shining over the land of

fool's gold
I saw a rainbow
two days in a row
I thought that it
might have been
symbolic
a small sigh of
redemption
or proof of something
mystic, bigger
but it isn't
...but it's nice to
think that,
though

The Dazzling Night
Far off they glow
Seen solely from below
These heroes of our sky
Having outlived generations, dwell well beyond time
Resolute, unchanging
Stalwart their glow
Majestically dappling
Each night with their show
Today’s world doth ignore
Timeless pages of lore
Warriors, legends, heroes of old
The mighty, the just, and the bold
Even though surely they are
They’ll never grow old

When we went to school aeons ago
Christianity and life were easy for a teacher and us.
Jesus on his cross and a disappearing act
Daniel, fighting ogres and lions.
Pupils didn’t believe anything of this
but it passed the time waiting for the school day to end
jumping on our bikes and playing cowboys and Indians
those who lived in America.
But a residue of what we were told stuck
I have been thinking of religion’s origin before
the told stories, entertaining as they were.
I think we need the abstraction of an...

The sky this afternoon had odd clouds
looked like icebergs floating on pink air
The seagulls took refuge on my terrace.
A grey wolf with a leg of lamb scratched
on the door, I let it in.
when preparing the meat, the wolf left
down the hall that was dimly lit
I asked no question
I remembered a Russian painter of black forests
and dark red sky I think he was foresighted
therefore, sent to a Gulag.
The sea in the bay is dark with white spots
the Russian has gone mad, was his name...

Rulena, Goddess of Darkness and Disruptions
Winter Queen and Dark Moon Oaths:
She brought more than disruption to the village of Fyrebend, a small town in the district of Kaladorei, in a new state added to the first 50 in the USA. A remote island newly formed by recent upheavals of the earth's crust during a moon eclipse event as well as a major earthquakes under the Gulf of Mexico. Her Chariot Life
The older she got, the less sure she was about anything.
She prayed to the One. Dismissed reality the very next day.
A digitial voice says, “ We know all about the lover.” That tarot card died.
Nothing new is discovered about the light or the dark. Or why do we talk to ourselves in persona of the gods?
Ra drives the Sun into her blissful skies.

Inside the mystic cycle
Stand together with the ghosts
moon breaking its whisper
so casually spilt, its shadows casting
like the undergrowth of our needs
slippers steeling through the naked trees
holding its breath for the dawn
the owls last hoot
before the sun would glint upon its wing
like the snapshot dream
a flash ,across times rift
not for our convenience
the seasons will, the greater powers forge
soak it up like sphagnum moss
imbibe that tincture
distilled from folk lore
the fired ark of wisdom pushed out from the shore
