She (Ice Mermaiden And Queen Of The Sea)
She was born and raised
Off of the icy waters of Antarctica
Groomed to be the Ice mermaiden queen
To guide the tides and grace the open seas
Now that she's grown and flourishing
She finds the deep sea oh so nourishing

the survivor
The survivor
The pandemic has taken its toll, the survivors have fled to the woods
the town is full of mice, rats have decided to stay in their sewers
and sea-gulls get fat.
The mice use the zebra crossing and should a car come along
the driver will stop; he is trained to do this.
He-the driver- drives into town where runs out of petrol, sits there
and watches as the sea drain away like bathwater down a plug hole.
He needs insulin and walks home; it is a long walk.
At home, he gets his medicine and fry some bacon and bake a potato...

There was a sailor
Some say the best to sail the sea
He lived for the salty air
And longed for gold and rubies
But one day sitting quietly
In the darkest corner of a sunken pub
He heard tale of a treasure so great
It would overshadow all other loves
T'was a foreboding warning
Of beautiful sirens who lie in wait
And sing their spellbound lullabies
To entice sailors as bait
He shrugged it off

And set sail the next morning

January has been a relatively quiet month so far
Apart from those noisy piano playing vampire mermaids!
They are so so loud
Although not as loud as my clothes!
I don't object to them occasionally nibbling my neck
Naughty mermaids! (ouch! that's not my neck?)

A Short Story!
whilst in the Old Town today, i was inspired to write a (thankfully!)short story, as follows: a few days ago, i was attacked by a giant vampire piano playing mermaid spider! this had somehow broken into my flat. i bravely and heroically managed to cover the spider with a small translucent lid (thus giving away the fact, that the giant vampire piano playing spider, wasn't actually quite as giantesque, as at first indicated, or suggested!) slipping a small piece of card under the aforementioned lid, i carefully escorted it to my kitchen. We were only trying to drown her
the mermaids sought to explain
innocence turned to jealousy
beauty without due constraint
all too alluring on the surface
charm cast to catch with a smile
mockery spun with delusion
until the pretender is dead
immersion is the last excursion
the waters aren’t the final escape
pay heed to the song of the sirens
consumed with the need to entrap
don’t ask the maidens for mercy
they’ll laugh in response to the plea
fun is had without payment

Mermaid
I want to love you across the world.
The land dwelling creature longs for the sea,
Like the horse pines for the dolphin,
Poke your head out and breathe my air.
It is not worth it on land; I'm bored
With the world I know; it is too dry.
Too in step with my own kind;
I want to turn your head around.
I want your gills to grow to lungs.
I want to dive and feel uncomfortable
Living out of my element
To learn my body's limits more.
If I never loved a fish,
