Terminal Courage
In times of Cancer or " AIDS "
Don't allow your faith to grow dim.
Uplift your fellow-human;
Give hope and compassion to them.
Let life not wither on the vine
in helplessness of despair;
Remember, you're not the only one
who could give-up and not care.
Be stronger and allow the weak
to lean against your might.
Plant the seeds of courage
in those who fight your fight.
Don't forget to be human
and it's all right to cry.
there's no room for self-pity
where only love can satisfy.
Don't allow your faith to grow dim.
Uplift your fellow-human;
Give hope and compassion to them.
Let life not wither on the vine
in helplessness of despair;
Remember, you're not the only one
who could give-up and not care.
Be stronger and allow the weak
to lean against your might.
Plant the seeds of courage
in those who fight your fight.
Don't forget to be human
and it's all right to cry.
there's no room for self-pity
where only love can satisfy.

The Last Time I Saw Him Not Smiling
The glasses of beer were raised more often
clinked with less care as the night progressed
the last time I saw him laugh himself red
When I peered into his room months later,
he was grumbling and fanning his loins
hospital sheets tossed in a wide tumble
the painter's gentle hand gripped my arm
with the burliness of pain, his nails
dug into my flesh to own my eyes
The last time I saw him not smiling
he glowered for my full attention
as one could of a close friend really
his eyes sought to tell me how...
clinked with less care as the night progressed
the last time I saw him laugh himself red
When I peered into his room months later,
he was grumbling and fanning his loins
hospital sheets tossed in a wide tumble
the painter's gentle hand gripped my arm
with the burliness of pain, his nails

Not Dead Yet!
Today, on the last day of January, about 15 minutes ago
I felt my heart begin to slow
After palpitations, and much sweat
And lots of retching, but not finished yet
Taken aspirin, and bisoprolol heart meds
Asi sit here upon my (death) bed
Ever aware of my mortal coil
Awaiting my time beneath the soil
Had the same, only worse
Was my christmay day morning curse
I hope can understand, and clearly see
Why i didn't want to spend 'This' day at A&E
So i took my chances, and stayed in my flat
Then fell asleep, where...
I felt my heart begin to slow
After palpitations, and much sweat
And lots of retching, but not finished yet
Taken aspirin, and bisoprolol heart meds
Asi sit here upon my (death) bed
Ever aware of my mortal coil
Awaiting my time beneath the soil
