Ode to Nothing (Neruda)
So many things
about you, nothing,
you who are often
in philosophy and theology.
I close
my eyes and see you.
I wave
my hands
behind my head and unsee you.
Unfeeling. I move
through you,
my frame framing you. Out
of you, all things begin.
The anticipation is great
at this cusp.
The astronomers
love you, they bang on
and on
about nothing,
the mathematicians
go further than zero
and call...
about you, nothing,
you who are often
in philosophy and theology.
I close
my eyes and see you.
I wave
my hands
behind my head and unsee you.
Unfeeling. I move
through you,
my frame framing you. Out

The anticipation is great

Homage to Figures of Art and Poetry
Barons of masterful verse,
your words are beautiful gardens
watered by rains of oblivion,
where vivid dreams dissolve
and life writhes unseen
like breath folded into air,
or rivers merging into streams.
Shakespeare,
you are a mirror of shadow and grace.
Angels whisper in your lines,
their tender voices echo
through pine-darkened countries
and the glaciers of time.
Dante,
you sing through infernal nights,
casting the lone light of a crucifix.
Prayers rise from despair,
exhaled like smoke, ...

Sam I am
That which observes greed is not greed: greed cannot observe itself.
That which observes lust is not lust: lust cannot observe itself.
That which observes anger is not anger: anger cannot observe itself.
That which observes love is not love: love cannot observe itself.
Who is the observer then?
Don't say "I am" because "I" does not exist.
That which observes mind is not mind: mind cannot observe itself.
And discuss.
That which observes lust is not lust: lust cannot observe itself.
That which observes anger is not anger: anger cannot observe itself.
That which observes love is not love: love cannot observe itself.

"Ordinary life" Pt. 2
Hidden behind tragic literature
seeking solace in anything but this place...
this ordinary life she chose.
the white witch found herself longing once more
but this time it was for space - for a chance to breathe again
interruptions occur more often now, this is motherhood.
the task was not explained
loving her kin, though easy... came with a heavy price.
reveling in the sound of rain drops
tap
tap
tapping...
seeking solace in anything but this place...
this ordinary life she chose.
the white witch found herself longing once more

The importance of ME
I awarded myself the golden key
convinced in my own verctity
stood on the podium
in no ones shadow, I am the total sum
Oscar`s, cast in my image
I will not hide my glittering plumage
reflections in lake, told the truth
loves adoration, of my beautiful youth
perfection, bedazzled, spotlight on freeze
the oneness of my holy trinity, achieved.

Skinny Dipping
Some people
Have told me
you see
That i have skin
that is lovely
Which is fine
As long as
They have
no intentions
Of
turning me
And
making me chic
Into
a lampshade
EEEEK!

I Wanna Be A…
I Wanna Be A…
So I’m just a rock star
Trying to get on the stage
Thunder from under the auditorium
Broken string that I play
I’m just getting started don’t tempt me
Sit in the audience and listen
Feel like I can be one of them
I can be almost as good as them
Good enough for me and then some
I can slay a dragon if you let me
I can be your demon if that’s what you want me to be
I can be a friar serving penance for the congregation
All I want to be is a rock star
I know this will not...

Neon epilogue
The clock’s teeth grind,
against your broken smile,
time's brittle spine,
hands tick-tock-tapping like the nervous cough of God.
The city hums a hymn of gasoline prayers,
each flickering streetlight a confession undone.
I saw a man in a window’s shattered grin,
his shadow whispered, "Can you save, but nobody here.”
The pavement drank his bloodshot dreams,
left his soul dangling from a rusted payphone cord,
Outside a shattered phonebooth.
And you
clutching your golden mirage,
your designer faith,

Doing my head in.
The flesh I am, existed in kind before I was even born.In the cells of other people. They held my future flesh and blood between their legs, waiting for the right conditions to arrive, to create a human being,a body only.
But me, the one you are now creating in your mind, is perception dependant, dependant on your biases and conditioning. The me you perceive will be different from the one I do and all others do.
Here in lies the lies.If enough people say I'm a good man you will believe it.You will perceive me differently without empirical evidence.

Bloody Liar
I've contemplated ego
from every vantage point
there's nothing I've discovered
that doesn't disappoint.
It's the CEO of humans
it rules with iron fist
waits to get the whip out
when I'm well and truly pissed.
Its focus is comparing
things you have or have not yet
it has its own perspective
sees everything a threat
Now it speaks
"Your home is not quite big enough
your car is ten years old
arise almighty ego
I will not be controlled.
Your clothes are all so daggy ...
