Crossroads of my heart
Wich path to take at this stage of life
I thought I'd know which heart to show
But here I linger in this uncertain limbo
Torn between the warmth of love or traveling life solo
Part of me yearns for that special soul connection
To feel the love, the touch, the sweet oblivion
Of someone so dear, who'll cherish and adore
But another part of my heart values independence more
The freedom to roam, to soar life's breeze
To answer to none, to not ask please
Solitude's comfort, the peace that it brings
Is it proven to...

A FACE
A face changes according to the shadow
From every look it meets
To please, to blend in, to be tender
Or hide, defend itself
So, between laughter and silences
Under each transformation
There is a truth, a reason
A single face remains and lights up.
From every look it meets
To please, to blend in, to be tender
Or hide, defend itself
So, between laughter and silences
Under each transformation
There is a truth, a reason
A single face remains and lights up.

Husk
You left me in the shallows,
half-drowned, lungs full of silt.
I am the remnants of something holy,
a cathedral stripped to bone.
Your voice was once a lifeline,
a tether between earth and sky—
now it lingers like distant thunder,
too far to bring the rain.
I call out, but only silence answers.
The ocean does not return what it takes.
And yet, I stand at the edge,
waiting for the tide to recognize my name.
half-drowned, lungs full of silt.
I am the remnants of something holy,
a cathedral stripped to bone.
Your voice was once a lifeline,
a tether between earth and sky—
now it lingers like distant thunder,
too far to bring the rain.
I call out, but only silence answers.
The ocean does not return what it takes.
And yet, I stand at the edge,
waiting for the tide to recognize my name.

The Carbon Family Picnic
At Evergreen Meadow,
The air crackled with excitement. It was the summer solstice, the one day of the year the sprawling Carbon Clan gathered in one place. This year, the honor fell to Carbon-12, their steadfast patriarch, whose sprawling oak tree in Evergreen Meadow served as the clan's traditional meeting spot.
Carbon-12 surveyed the crowd with a warm smile. His countless bonds had created a sprawling family, each member unique, yet undeniably Carbon. There was Carbon-13, his eccentric cousin, juggling aetheric energy orbs while debating the merits of isotopic art with...

Sam I am
That which observes greed is not greed: greed cannot observe itself.
That which observes lust is not lust: lust cannot observe itself.
That which observes anger is not anger: anger cannot observe itself.
That which observes love is not love: love cannot observe itself.
Who is the observer then?
Don't say "I am" because "I" does not exist.
That which observes mind is not mind: mind cannot observe itself.
And discuss.
That which observes lust is not lust: lust cannot observe itself.
That which observes anger is not anger: anger cannot observe itself.
That which observes love is not love: love cannot observe itself.

I hope to see you there
Gentle air fills dying lungs
Under blue skies and bitter chill
Folk tunes playing through blown out speakers
Nervousness fills aching bones
Picking lint off of an expensive sweater without breaking eye contact
How did I get here?
Years of dreaming was never enough
Restlessness and addiction kept me stuck
Until the final push from the one who promised to never let me fall
An open door to the visions that have flooded my brain since adolescence
A bigger view caused for an emotional afternoon
But who am I to...

Bloody Liar
I've contemplated ego
from every vantage point
there's nothing I've discovered
that doesn't disappoint.
It's the CEO of humans
it rules with iron fist
waits to get the whip out
when I'm well and truly pissed.
Its focus is comparing
things you have or have not yet
it has its own perspective
sees everything a threat
Now it speaks
"Your home is not quite big enough
your car is ten years old
arise almighty ego
I will not be controlled.
Your clothes are all so daggy ...

Call Him Mister
Miss miz or misses
Mr T
just call me Wendy
that's fine with me
it's just a name
don't play a game
we're not living
in 1960
Weren't you at the conference that day
I hear myself say
to the Viking from central casting
he was easy to spot
it didn't take a lot
but did he remember me?
no way
I'm Wendy I stated
(a name I've never hated)
to the bearded man with hair of red
and when our hands shook
he gave me a look
I'm Mister Erikson he said
When I'm in front of a class
I'm...

You have your opinions
I have mine
You're right.
I'm wrong.
Who cares you tiny little sub atomic particle.
The universe does not give one jot what you think.
We're all up ourselves
I have mine
You're right.
I'm wrong.
Who cares you tiny little sub atomic particle.

Circling Back
Insanity is enchanting, madness, addictive.
Between the lines, the warmth of your smile is enough.
I know I am safe when serenity comes into view as a stray thought.
You are timely to recite my last rites.
I am content, grateful for that.
Comforted.
I watch from above as the words flow forth on the winds of time.
The cosmos is angelic and welcoming.
Traveling into my subconsciousness during my dreams is an adventure.
I become another living being.
I am assertive.
I am aggressive.
I’m a loud mouth.
I’m not...

Skinny Dipping
Some people
Have told me
you see
That i have skin
that is lovely
Which is fine
As long as
They have
no intentions
Of
turning me
And
making me chic
Into
a lampshade
EEEEK!
