I want to go home
Take me back to my childhood home
Where the air hits your lungs and the noise fills your head
Let me bask in the warmth of family love
The familiar life and the easy acceptance
Where everyone sounds like me and I can understand them
And I get the nuances and sarcasm the little jokes
Someplace that I can grow old surrounded by peace
And I can look at the fields and flowers and old stone walls
And muse where one day where I would like to be scattered
I’ve had my adventure I’ve seen somewhere new
Now I just want to go home
Where the air hits your lungs and the noise fills your head
Let me bask in the warmth of family love
The familiar life and the easy acceptance
Where everyone sounds like me and I can understand them
And I get the nuances and sarcasm the little jokes
Someplace that I can grow old surrounded by peace

I Am Never Alone
It's great to pretend in front of my friends.
But the time has come to not be one.
Now it seems like I, I can say goodbye.
Leave this place behind and though I can't say why.
All these friends of mine I'll see again in time.
Now I know I am never alone.
Not on my own, I am never alone.
I'm never alone, no, no, no.
Never alone.
It's great to meet ends, in fact they recommend it.
But the time has come to unbecome.
And it seems like I'm not in the light.
I can't get you off my mind.
And though I can see why.
All...

Together Yet Apart
As I'm moving on from the fuck boi who pretended to love me in the past, I wonder about the future and who's truly meant to be in my life next. I've been stuck on a lie for 8 years and am now wondering what truth would feel like.
If it's anything like what I thought I experienced in the past except based on true love instead of lust, I bet it would be amazing. More than I've ever had in my entire life.
But I wonder also how living with them would work.
Surely, it'd be fine, right?
But in the back of my mind, my trauma pops up and screams, "Bad...

Where the weeds have overgrown.
From childhood years, I still recall
running through our worn back door,
but my joyous shouts will shout no more,
my sisters' sleep in a graveyard floor.
In this old home where once we lived
tangled weeds have overgrown.
The swing set now a thing of rust,
the see-saw waits alone.
Our youth feels like a made-up dream.
Lost picture frames displaying we three,
with Mom and Dad near
the backyard tree.
Yet sadly, all that's left is me.
running through our worn back door,
but my joyous shouts will shout no more,
my sisters' sleep in a graveyard floor.
In this old home where once we lived
tangled weeds have overgrown.
The swing set now a thing of rust,

When I Lost You Forever
I thought that you were my forever home,
But all of that has now turned into charred
Ashes. Darling, what happened to our
Foundation? We would search and roam
This town to find our roots, near and far.
You want to switch directions in this hour
When the sun is barely up, leaving it all
Behind. You let things crumble and fall
So you could finally find your happiness
Somewhere else, even if it was no longer
Me. I lost you to the voice in my head that
Said to stay as the words that will carry us
To the place that made us much stronger...

the porch
the porch,
my learning
tool,
it's feet,
it's arms,
wide eyes
and constant
stare,
colored like
those of
mostly summer,
edges of
other seasons
lay in
the edges,
each day
in between
porch posts,
it's
wide mouth
vibrates
and once
tapping
each board,
brushed
with ideas
of casual
replies.

Winter's Charm
Winter's breath arrives, a silent chill descends,
Snowflakes dance, a ballet from the sky descends.
Gazing through the window, a sight unfolds,
A quilt of cotton, nature's story it holds.
The air is crisp, a willowing whisper floats,
Within the hearth, a fire crackles, it gloats.
Externally inviting, a cold, yet splendid sight,
Nature's grandeur unfolds, a soulful delight.
Yet the warm abode, in its humble guise,
Exudes calm, a refuge where stillness lies.
World may beckon with grandeur, a vast expanse -
Yet, in the hearth's...

the NorthSouth ballad
i guess i like it here,
warm, bright, and yellow tunes are everywhere!
it’s upbeat and catchy, and everyone sings along,
a very good song, fun and monophonic.
we’re singing so fast, though, that I'm struggling to breathe.
is it hot down here?
i’m sweating more than everyone else.
i’d like to listen to something different now…
i’ve been up there before too.
where the music is sundry and textured,
mysterious dissonance and moody melodies accompany the icy blue atmosphere.
the voices are glacial and layered, each...

Dream House
I dream to construct a dwelling fair,
With my own two hands, in nature's lair.
In a jungle's heart, midst mountains grand,
Where clouds alight, like soft dreams land.
Amidst the wild, where creatures play,
No malice, vengeance, just innocence sway.
To live in harmony, with nature's sound,
A tranquil abode where peace is found.
I yearn to reside, seek and explore,
In this haven of mine, my very core.
Grow my being, let enlightenment unfold,
In the arms of nature, where stories are told.
If life's true...
With my own two hands, in nature's lair.

Big city
I live in a big city
But on a quiet little street
Where not much happens
Day to day
I feel kind of insulated from the nasty stuff
That goes on day after day
Just around the corner
Oh sure we've had our share
Of trouble and crime
Even here in my quiet little house
But just a break in or two
Not much when you consider
The murder and mayhem
That a big city engenders
I feel lucky and bored at the same time
I can understand the luckiness I feel
But the boredom worries me a little
I don't want any of that big...

When all Goes Quiet
It's funny how
our adult children
will come out
of their rooms
at night
to check on us
when they don't
hear us laughing
or talking
in the living room
they suddenly think
something might be wrong.
But we're just asleep
me on the couch
my husband in his chair
worn out from a day
of doing the usual
things we do
and that boring t.v.
well, that puts us to sleep.

No Spiders Allowed
I’ve told you all before
to stay outside the house
that is where you all belong
along with every mouse.
Not inside my house
it’s off limits don’t you see
so stay away from my front door
or danger there will be.
Don't try hiding in a corner
or in a bath towel on the door
don't let me find you in my kitchen
or on the bathroom floor.
Stay outside where you belong
or in the fire you’ll go
or flushed on down the toilet
with the dirty water below.
