MOUTH TECHNIQUES
I
had been interested
since I was a teenager
because of the stories and
things I had read about the
pleasure and joy that could
be experienced by the mouth.
ONE'S
mouth is unique to the individual's taste
and how they want to use it is a
personal choice.
IT
may be used to blow, suck, hum
and tongue each hole in the
Mouth Organ better known
as a harmonica and those who
blow it as a harmonicist.
THEY
come in various sizes and shapes;
each producing sounds enjoyed by
the blower and hearer. Meet...

worst flare-up in years
the lungs crackling away
like a breakfast cereal going
all snap crackle pop
how you feel, dey ask
in truth
i feel like one fire hydrant
i wanna say
warily watching da
approaching dog
but instead say
fine fine
later dey bring me
da plastic urinal
for make shi-shi
which i do
plenny shi-shi
which is good sign, yeah,
but as i snap close da lid
da shi-shi come spurting out
from one puka in da bottom
of da jug
and my lap suddenly all...

Gone
I couldn’t find myself,
when my voice lost its way out
of my lips, stifled in my throat,
when my tears hung behind my lids,
flooding the back of my eyes,
when I stared at the screen
for a bit longer, unblinking,
when I became a stranger
to my own mind.
I was gone, scattered into dust.

These Days

These Days
These days I find it hard to write
My inspiration lacking
My emotions skewed
My mind wordless
These days I find it hard to do anything
Life is taxing and unbearable
Unforgiving and unkind
Filled with burdens to carry
These days are strenuous
Taking all my energy just to function
To get out of bed in the morning
Filled with so much responsibility
And yet I am here
Doing what I can
When I can
With what I have left
And yet I am succeeding
And...
These Days
These days I find it hard to write

My emotions skewed
My mind wordless
These days I find it hard to do anything

have patience with damaged souls
{...& aren't we all...}
be gentle with their handling
cast no judgment on their struggle
or how they move
their experience of life...
was not what the universe gave you
while you were...
...{perhaps}...
...better able to focus on your future
& thereby...to grow
they were striving to merely survive
please...
approach them with compassion...
because...
being touched by unclean hands
claimed with no consent ...
enough...

you don't think about it much
not when everything still hurts
what happens after
you focus on the pain
bruises...burns...& fractures
on getting through that day
& the next
trying to understand what went wrong
was it you...or them
or a toxic combination
but when wounds stop aching
& shadows fall back
horizon looking a little brighter
that's when possibility presents itself
& your head tips to one side
in silent contemplation
&...
you don't think about it much

Like A Beacon
I thought you’d left a light on for me
in that place we built from thin air
and pieces of ourselves we hid
it stood as a monument to everything
I didn’t know I wanted
in that time it stilled
a grand design
a Van Gogh
using pain and suffering to
paint our version of “Starry Night”
turning it into the most gorgeous suffering
of fools in love
we emblazoned our names into the the bust of the mantle
with little hearts
like love sick teenagers
so...

Flavoured with the softest zephyr, soaked into the finest dew,, served in flowered cup of the time,
spring comes to life again, waddling in the fields, dancing with growing greens bending its shoulder
to nod assent to every willing poet.....i come entranced to bow silently to this celestial eternity,
try to pour my heart, my feelings like a liquid love into honeyed words.
i am enchanted, ever again and more inebriated,,, the perfume souvenirs come alive,

I just wanna live
As I am a firm believer that I want to live my life, as I continue to stand and fight for this precious life, that I love and want for my wife and family and friends, to be able to live. For what I can relate to the most is when I thought about seeing myself, as I was feeling that I wasn't going to make it to see another day. But yet God Almighty insured me it's going to be alright, even with the process of dealing with different stages of cancers that took control over my life.
