WHAT REALLY MATTERS IN THE END?
I have walked on all
the Continents in
the world, all 50 States,
and lost count of the
countries I have visited.
I say this not to impress
but to share what I, not
anyone else, have learned.
It hit me right between
the eyes a few years ago
as I heard what a group
of wealthy men said in the
last days in the terminal ward;
soon to face death.
They were all rich and
among the who's who
in society. In their last days
they were asked what,
when looking back really
mattered?
Was it their yachts,...

I’m sorry I didn’t write you a verse for your birthday, because unlike pros today I chose to compose and expose my verbose prose which feels like it goes all the way up to the elbows. So, pardon my slippery delivery if it makes you feel a little quivery, but I’mma try to give you some lines that will make you crinkle your nose and maybe even curl your toes.
I didn’t get you a hallmark card ‘cause you know how hard it is for me to spit some barred rhymes in such a tight space, but you’ve seen my face and heard my grammar even though I stammer when I try to enunciate. Theoretically...

Five years ago this day Kiddo
terrified, holding you skin to skin
baby blue beautiful eyes
One should never take a smile for granted
here one day
Vanished, empty halls next reality
This lost year gets me thinking
maybe I'm a bad father
Should have fought harder
Could have done more
held you a little longer
Perhaps, better not beat yourself
those what if, rainy maybe days
