CUPID ON RE-CALL
Who is that baby angel with a bow
Shooting arrows to and fro
Stinging men and women in the arm
Introducing them to luck and charm?
Love is definitely in the air
Look at Cupid flying there!
Heaven’s curio missing the archery
Cupid to strike NOT an artery!
Quick! Quick! Sound the alarm!
Fly and search the fields and barn!
Cupid’s missing and at large!
Meddling, striking, and free to barge!
Citizens from everywhere
Be vigilant and be aware
Cupid’s a baby – What...

Felt Love
The look you give when you lock eyes
The breath you hold when she moves close
The flutter that ripples through when alone
The helpless surrender when her smile glows
The breath you hold when she moves close
The flutter that ripples through when alone
The helpless surrender when her smile glows

February
For me it always so
both the longest
as well as the shortest
winter month
With peeking groundhogs
damp firewood logs
that seem to refuse
to ever light
To warm each lonely night
spent with a table for one
when all is said and done
dreading the fourteenth
With all of its flowers
cards
candy
each damsel with her dandy
Leaving me lying
to myself
in full repose
still trying to compose
both the longest
as well as the shortest
winter month
With peeking groundhogs
damp firewood logs
that seem to refuse
to ever light
To warm each lonely night
spent with a table for one
when all is said and done
dreading the fourteenth
With all of its flowers
cards
candy
each damsel with her dandy
Leaving me lying
to myself
in full repose
still trying to compose
