Unbalanced Love

From the beginning I have loved you
 & I will until the end of time
Yet I always feel like the fool
 When it's you who can't get it right


So, why, Why do you continuously shred my heart
 Walk all over it like your floor mat
I have always righteously played my part
 Yet you keep pushing me closer to snap


My word has been kept from day one,
 I have never lied to you
So it's unfair that I'm the one to feel dumb
 For always being right to you


Chance after chance I have given to you to prove your worth
 Promises made ending with broken trust
All those opportunities, wasted they were
 & now I'm just sitting here like fuck


My heart aches inside my chest
& I do my very best
To keep my composure
But what the heck?!


Calm & collected I am, it's my nature
 So my thoughts contain no anger
Yet the little man says "Why don't you hate her?"
 "Why don't you end it and escape her?"


Her love may be just as unconditional as mine
 But her actions say otherwise
Unbalanced love, I could end it in the drop of a dime
 But hasty actions are never wise
