I met a young girl
So beautiful and sweet
but beyond her smile
was a pain so deep
She cried every night
before she went to sleep
She called it "fasting"
but she just didn't want to eat
She knew the main upstairs would take care of her
But not knowing her fate had truly scared her
She tried to run
but ended up right back where she started
Yet in school, she was one of the smartest
Disobedient, Dishonest, and always telling lies
She became the girl that many
wanted to despise
She thought she could control
what was actually controlling her in return
GO DON'T SEND ME TO HELL! she cried
She didn't want to burn
All those secrets she had
they had to come out for the world to see
the troubled young lady
she had turned out to be
What happened to me!!!?
She cried as she stared into my eyes
but I didn't have an answer
her anger came as a surprise
Deep down inside she told me
she once wanted to die
Oh God, OH GOD! why
Looking for love in all the wrong places
Searching for understanding in all the wrong faces
Everywhere she went
she could feel the displacement
She wasn't normal

She was a child of God
in a horrible world
Some doors open, and some shut in her face
