To be a lady
To walk with grace and stand up strong
To smile proud, to prove some wrong
To be a lady and to see
That in this mirror, she is me
To hold an air of dignity
Is how I want my world to be
No more this woman, who I was
Dragged along by men who boss
Now I am, who I was born
Woman of statue, not of scorn
I will lead my life from now
No more men will show me how
I will be, who is inside
The woman who was born with pride
With honor, grace, humanity
To be the lady found in me
To smile proud, to prove some wrong
To be a lady and to see
That in this mirror, she is me
To hold an air of dignity
Is how I want my world to be
No more this woman, who I was
Dragged along by men who boss
Now I am, who I was born
Woman of statue, not of scorn
I will lead my life from now
No more men will show me how
I will be, who is inside
The woman who was born with pride
With honor, grace, humanity
To be the lady found in me
