Inspiration's Muses

Don't shoot until you see the white
glistening in their eyes
take a step forward
if you dare see the surprise
words shoot out suddenly
dissolving the victim totally
in a vast waterfall
of sparkling light
whispering the cricket's melody
the wind's laughing voice,
the sound of growing trees,
the pound of creature's feet,
the beating of earth's heart,
then the wheels begin turning
constantly in the victim's
fragile and now open brain
so the victim then becomes
the predator to the next
as they reach for their pen
