I Implore
Have I left you unfulfilled one too many times?
Have you felt treasured and special in someone else's eyes?
What have I done?
Give me a list.
I will make it my quest and my challenge
to rescue you my dear princess
Daydreamer, dream we are alone
No pressures, no deadlines
In a quiet home
I will slay the demon
Lay him to rest
For I cannot abide by what he has done
to the heart that beats in your chest
Have these days been lonely, trapped in your well?
Have I not been there to break dark spells?
I invoke your name and beg for your knowledge
Speak to me plainly of what it is you desire
I am equipped to fulfill in both need and want
And I promise to never leave a foul spirit to haunt
My hand is extended in peace and reticence
Can you trust me to take it however faintly?
Our bonds are weakened but still not broken
What penance must I serve; the whip, the yoke, and beyond?
I'd recolor the sky if given the chance
And instead of standing still the stars would dance
We've both drawn blood with bladed tongues
Climbed crooked ladders rung by rung
Is it freedom you wish from a cage without a swing?
You're trying to get out and I'm dying to get in.
Let's question these motives
Bring them all to full light
Give the Sun back its day and the Moon back its night
One without the other is so incomplete
These times are engendered in danger of defeat
Have you felt treasured and special in someone else's eyes?
What have I done?
