The Hands of Time ( For Ashlie Tani)
This poem is dedicated to my best friend Ashlie Tani...I love and miss you everyday
Forever in my heart and mind
Thomas Edison's last word were, "It's very beautiful over there"
I don't know where there is, but I believe it's somewhere, and my hope for you is that it's beautiful.
What would you do if you only had 24 hours to live? And what would you do if this were to be true but answered it hypothetically?......As if this were to be just a theory...... but this poem would make it factual,For time is blind and so is your destiny but can only picture the moment......Points in time...... where you think with your body and not with your mind,So you think too fast and you move to slow, And before you know...... your life has passed you by!By shit you took for granted, because you thought you had it but never had it,Because when you had it you never took notice in what it was really worth......No interest to witness, because you said it was so hard that it hurts,But if you could press rewind to play back the hands of time...... you would see...... how precious but how fragile life is to be!Because we are never promised...... another second, another minute, another day in a tomorrow,But why...... someone tell me why is it the sorrow, yes...... the sorrow to always remind us!The agony of such angelic lives being takin' without the last of goodbyes but by the way that they died,Senseless acts or acts without cause, Or perhaps at a cause...... that we can never grasp to swallow......Because you just couldn't swallow your pride for an apology, a story...... that they will never beable to hear,As you forever hold the regret of wishing that you could press rewind to play back the hands of time,Because you would see...... just how precious but how fragile life can be! Because we are never promised...... another second, another minute, another day in a tomorrow,But don't wait for the sorrow to remind us!
