Sometimes I look at humanity
in disgust
at our
war, slavery, genocide
and think we must be
lower than the lowliest animal.
Sometimes I look at humanity
in wonder
at our
mastery of the sea, the sky, the stars
and think we must be
angels in disguise.

Thanks JazzMan. This came to me as I was on an airplane, in wonder of our accomplishments.. then the following confusion that the very same species who created such marvels could also be responsible for such atrocities.
