Tonight

Today I am lost in my inner darkness.
Tonight the darkness reigns inside me
but I would seek to shed light on Your path

Today that part of me is so seductive.
Tonight my terror calls to me like an old lover
but I would give myself over only to You

Today those desires are overpowering.
Tonight my need for you possesses me
but I would tend only to Your needs

Today the bloodlust has taken me.
Tonight the agony threatens to drain my soul
but I would allow You to drink from my veins

Today my Monster is howling.
Tonight my little girl is crying
but she would be silenced by Your presence

Today the hellish visions swirl before my eyes.
Tonight phantasms await me in my dreams
but I would sleep in hopes I see you there

Today He rules for a while.
Tonight she runs feral and uncontrollable
but she would quietly sit at Your feet

Today I see the world through a crimson haze.
Tonight my vision may be shrouded in grayness
but I would be blind without Your voice

Today your pain would bring me pleasure.
Tonight my suffering is deeper than an ocean
but I would drown myself in Your gratification

Today the wounds I leave would be deep.
Tonight I feel anew the sting of past torment
but I would gladly bleed freely for You

Today my teeth need your tender flesh.
Tonight my soul longs to feel whole again
but I would offer You my body to consume

Today my claws need to rend you.
Tonight I ache to be wrapped in Your arms
but I would instead let You tear me apart

Today your screams would be as music.
Tonight I cannot find harmony within myself
but I would sing sweetly for you to hear

Today your writhing would be poetry.
Tonight I lack the ability to form words
but I would write you sonnets with my limbs

Today you are not here.
Tonight I wish I was there
