PROM NIGHT

Prom night is near, us kids have this fear,
Not sure of the flow, nor how things will go,
There’s this anticipation, that runs across the nation,
We dress up for this evening, not knowing the reason,
Prob’ just ‘cause of tradition, we make our own rendition,
Dudes rent out a tux, girls get dolled up deluxe,
In our party dress, trying to impress,
Deep inside we are scared, but the feeling is shared,
Parents more excited than us, put up a big fuss,
Limo is parked outside, we take this all in stride,
Now we stroll to the ride, parents are filled with pride,
It’s our first real date, don’t want to be late,  
At the prom we arrive, a simple and short drive,
Inside kids stand around, wall flowers-scared to boogie down,
Chaperones’ in our face, making sure we keep space,
The night starts to get slow, everyone’s about to go,
We hit the after party, another chance to shake our body,
Finally we make it home, safe n sound and alone,
We revel over the night, our fun was out of sight,
Experience my class shared together, that will last in our hearts forever!
