Sleep Always Wins
Fading into a dream
Dozing in and out of consciousness
I've woken up 20 times in the last hour
Feels as though I've crammed a month of " mornings" into a day
Full relaxation
Minus my eyes stressing to stay open
I feel sleep pulling me in
Fighting to stay awake
Its a losing battle
My eye lids are only so strong
Feels as though a stew of chemicals within my head are being released
Shutting down my body
Chemicals working toward a paralyzed, unconscious me
I continue to fight
Opening my eyes for a relaxing 10 or 20 seconds
Before sleep pulls me back in
Chemicals continue to stew in my brain
I am overcome
I give in
Sleep always wins in the end
Dozing in and out of consciousness
I've woken up 20 times in the last hour
Feels as though I've crammed a month of " mornings" into a day
Full relaxation
Minus my eyes stressing to stay open
I feel sleep pulling me in
Fighting to stay awake
Its a losing battle
My eye lids are only so strong
Feels as though a stew of chemicals within my head are being released
Shutting down my body
Chemicals working toward a paralyzed, unconscious me
I continue to fight
Opening my eyes for a relaxing 10 or 20 seconds
Before sleep pulls me back in
Chemicals continue to stew in my brain
I am overcome
I give in
Sleep always wins in the end
