I was walking toward the main pasture, down the center lane, when a pigeon fell from the sky, and a brick, then a few more bricks. I saw a flash of light that lit up the post-dawn, a giant boon, sort of muffled, like a loud poof startled the dark ambiance of this peaceful early morn. The one street light allotted to this rural area went out, as did the house lights, which cold no longer be seen in the distance. Bits of coil, inductors, baluns, and circuitry showered the area. The transformer finally went off. It's been a time bomb with no time set, confused, amped by rebellious voltage, the crackling voice of anger, spitting sparks, teeming to burst. We all knew it was just a matter of time. Finally, the revolution has come. My eyes panned the area in consternation -- two cameras reporting to central headquarters. Transmission from my remote locale to CIA intelligence files. "The target area has attacked. Battle shall ensue." Just as the soft soil of the ground started to sculpt dirt cannons, stalks of corn soldiers in their planted formation raised their rifles. As they did the blown telephone wires started whipping the air, lashing out at the sky. Cables unearthed themselves and poised themselves, giant vipers ready to strike, their frayed ends, heads, swaying slightly to and fro to zero in on their victims.

"This is not a war of currents, Agent One, we will need more information. Intercept the carrier message, check the squab for a operculum, and also records any last coo issued by enemy bird."

I dashed toward the bird and found the tube still attached to it's nearly severed leg, I pulled the thin paper from the tube, ate the bird, and began to read the code; [n-1]*6- ΦB|\mathcal{E}| (Z.B.D.) Hz.12.80 2-winding, 6-pulse; E-I core! WOW! Who would have guessed that the formula for electromotive war would have been so simple? I didn't have time to explain the theory in use to all the fence posts, or the broke down tractor half a mile down center, but I had the formula well memorized in one read. I recited the formula backwards to CIA OPs, as dictated by standard procedure, and then I began diffusion of my life form. As a vapor I would be much more useful to Central, and protected from the ravaging fires that would soon consume the entire region. Perhaps I should have tried to convert the dead tractor into a dead firetruck as a scarecrow of sorts, but there was no time for such artistic tactics. All of my focus will need to be directed to the fire.
