one day
Just want one day...
sitting in the sun
as the warmth crawls across our cold eyes,
I want all of our worries to drift away
in a cloud of smoke
I want you to be my friend.
to feel the warmth
across skin as we sit
by a window,
The sun gleaming
staining our faces, I want to walk with you around this dingy town...
to show you the places I have been
places I have lived
want a day,
sitting in the sun
the light would burn our eyes...
and all of our worries would drift away in a cloud of smoke
we would be...
dizzy with laughter,
and you would seem more perfect
I want to drag you
along with the sun
want to walk the empty roads with you,
show you
the old writings on the playground set.
make a joke...
want to show you the lake
want one day of sitting in the sun
watching
all of our worries drift away in a cloud of smoke
want to play you a tune
that has been stuck in my head
want one day of the sun
beating on our bodies
staining our faces
want all of our wories to drift away
in a cloud of smoke
I want to be your friend.
sitting in the sun

I want all of our worries to drift away
