Hiding From The Sun
Hit in the face with a brick;
The desert heat bounces off the billboards
Suitcase, stairs, struggle,
Dining with the leftovers of musical kings
Seabirds flock from a box,
And a woman dies at a bus stop
Down the glittering streets of Utopia,
My eyes just two more stars in this galaxy
But the heat is a murderous tormentor...
Can't sleep with the murderous tormentor
Cooking the night away
Exploring the castles
Where souls are lost each day
Greeted by the clown with the greasepaint smile,
But I swiftly escape to the freezer
I passed you in the corridors,
Heard your songs as I sat by the lake,
The loners gain company,
We taste, and we feast
Hoodoos in the heat,
A loner loses company
Speeding through the desert,
Speeding trolley through a supermarket
Hiding from the sun,
For the heat is a murderous tormentor...
Can't eat with the murderous tormentor
Until down that evening road,
Kicking the dust like the galloping horses,
The loners share their homesickness
And a woman dances at a bus stop
Rolling the ball down the lane of stars,
Living in her shoes, and loving her life
Late night meetings,
The last dance was saved for me
Alone in our beds,
A rumbling thunderstorm taking us into space
Alien are the loners
Drowning in the thunderstorm,
Invisible skins never fooled the locals
Shivering, shaking, dizzy, and fainting,
For the rain is a murderous tormentor...
Can't move with the murderous tormentor
Invisible skins didn't fool us tonight
Framed and priceless,
I'm greeted by clowns once more
Glitter, castles, night, stars
Forced to leave it all behind
High above the Earth,
Rising with the heat,
Secret whispers tell me
That the loners are no longer alone,
Resurrected and returning home,
Lost and found, and remembered
The desert heat bounces off the billboards
Suitcase, stairs, struggle,
Dining with the leftovers of musical kings
Seabirds flock from a box,
And a woman dies at a bus stop
Down the glittering streets of Utopia,
My eyes just two more stars in this galaxy
