the drought of the ages
It starts with the shedding of a single drop
A drop of what holds us together
The liquid that sustains life
To lose a drop
Is to lose grasp
A grasp of life
Every drop is a cry
A cry for what shouldnt have been
For what could have been
When the rush of tears stop
And the flesh begins to heal
A new wound is opened
Will it weep or seal?
Scars of the broken
Blood of the meak
Reliving each slice
Relieving its pain
The liquid of life
Once so beautiful
Becomes a sign of decay
Each cut shows a story
Each cut leaves a history
Each drop becomes a river
Each river forms into rain
Showering down on the world
Is the life of the beaten
The life trying to escape
Escape into darkness
Darkness shall devour the pain
Death shall bring an end to the rain.
A drop of what holds us together
The liquid that sustains life
To lose a drop
Is to lose grasp
A grasp of life
Every drop is a cry
A cry for what shouldnt have been
For what could have been
When the rush of tears stop
And the flesh begins to heal
A new wound is opened
Will it weep or seal?
Scars of the broken
Blood of the meak
Reliving each slice
Relieving its pain
The liquid of life
Once so beautiful
Becomes a sign of decay
Each cut shows a story
Each cut leaves a history
Each drop becomes a river
Each river forms into rain
Showering down on the world
Is the life of the beaten
The life trying to escape
Escape into darkness
Darkness shall devour the pain
Death shall bring an end to the rain.
