Dark rooms

Dark rooms with red flowers
enclosed by imposing stone.
A long hall outside the rooms,
where hooded strangers pass.
In this gloomy, hidden fortress,
the fallen drink sweet poisons.
Imprisoned by good motives,
they now remain out of fear.
To stay is not so bad after all,
they think, being content with
damnation.
