the dreadful sorrow
When you say forever
How long is it really?
A day? A week? A month?
As I lay here a drink in my hand
I sip and the liquor burns my throat
Like fire
Do I truly love you
Can one love after a week
You are mine and I am yours
But both disappearing into a flame of nothingness
This ring on my finger cuts me like the knife in my heart
I lay here alone and longing to never be truly alone
I see you and I feel like a ghost
I lay here with a drink in my hand a burn in my throat and a heart that longs for you
