Dreamcatcher eyes

the dreamcatchers are overloaded
with nightmares and terrors
and pieces of dreams fall
shattered
like shards of glass
raining down on the street
people trying to pick them up
and piece them together
but two and two just won't make four
and the shards keep cutting their fingers
though what you see inside
is a land of dreams
lost
a land of hopes
dead
but those shatter, as well
into crystalline tears in
these tired dreamcatcher eyes
who only see
terror and disbelief
so unlike the past
they want to come back to.
