Imagination

Imagination of my troubled sea,

Please become my reality.

I'll live among the non-existent.
Thrive above the torment.
Break character, for a moment,
And be whom I've always wanted.

I'll dance between the broken souls,
Knowing I am free,
I'll laugh in case they didn't know,
There are no chains for me.

I'll take your hand and pull you near,
Look what we've created here,
I kiss you, and hold you dear,
Attractant mixed with silent fear.

I'll swim with the world and feel it move,
I'll trace its steps as it goes,
I'll breathe it in and create another,
And continue doing so.

I must wake up occasionally.
When I do, I shed a tear.
But in my world, my own world,
I take a deep breathe, and smile,
because I know I'll soon be here.

Imagination, the food we eat,
I can hear your call.
Imagination, the water we drink,
Give, give to us all.
