Into the Void: 4

4- Images From the Fire

"God's first creature, which was light."

Francis Bacon

Unleashed, as he lay deeper within the small cell and his vision, overwhelmed and consumed by memorae elicited his heart to act...

Those that he been inspired to create her from the spores of a wildflower and a human debris sought only the profit of their own invention. There was ill concern given to the form of beauty, save what certain men might pay to lie beside it-- and if only for an hour or so, possess it. Her rogue alchemist an outlaw has arisen her from ash and pollen, his creation of a matured form, adult homind, a matter of practical worth.

That her mind was only a few hours old had given no great pause to the license that she was born to serve the needs of her creator. That oversight had cost them with their lives...

Lilitu, mad and blinded with fear lashed out, and it was only by some deception on his own part that he might bring her here. As with all rogue creations, it was a matter of policy that they were to be immediately destroyed.

Law does not concern itself with a creature's willingness to live, within or outside of its confines. Lilitu could never directly act against those who had created her, but she had most certainly started the fire that had consumed them all.

She would become the first outlaw and heretic of her kind.

He had removed her from all of that-- a civilized society, and left her unto these four rooms, which was his home. He was well aware that, as fragile as her heart and mind had been left by such a traumatic birth that she may well destroy it all, and let it fall in around her.

Desire was immediate and intense, as this was to what ends she had first been inspired to the eye of her creator. A want to possess her was ne'er so much a matter of seduction as the body has want to be seduced... perhaps for love, profit or merely for the sake of panache. He would someday discover that the true heart of the creature lay buried beneath the wondrous art of creation.

Forgiveness ne'er overwhelms fear, stricken too deep into the flesh and core--as marble may never be rescued from the chiselers blade that had scored too deep. He would ne'er truly understand his desire to rescue her, as with so many that had come to pass and were eventually put down-- like mad dogs, as they could ne'er  fully be trusted within this civilization of mankind. The danger that she presented seemed merely to add to her allure, and yet...

As a man of the Ministry of Silence, he understood the boy within, and its struggle to understand a world that he had no choice but to become a part of what he had no design.

She would, at times, sit naked at the piano, striking keys randomly and hoping to please the ear with mad random sounds--a as a child tests its every bound, and seemingly oblivious to that which was all around her. These walls had kept her alive for a time, but only that she had discovered that which lay beyond was much more immense.

Untended and alone, she had struck out on her own, with no true knowing of what lay beyond.

Whether she was lost or found, given a new life or destroyed on sight-- he had ne'er found her again...

Save that he might dream of himself--reborn and anew.
