How to Start Over In Five Steps
Through many years
I've been searching for a way to move
towards the future without carrying the past
as deadweight on my shoulders.
Five simple steps made me a future
that I welcome with open arms.
Step one: find a band who write songs with meaningful lyrics.
That step is essentials. Look deeper withing rock, metal and punk. Usually, they are the only ones who know that kind of stuff.
Step two: find the songs that inspires you to do something good about your life. I found one by FiveFingerDeathPunch. It's named Coming Down and circles around bullies and their victims and the consequence of suicide. That one song have actually helped me a lot, 'cause it's like looking into a mirror. I realized that I wasn't alone, and that others might need help. And I want to be there for them.
Step three: Make a list of want you want to change or what you want to "keep". Forget your past, but keep whatever you learned from it. There is no point of starting over if you are going to make the same mistakes again, right? So take those lessons with you.
Step four: Replace your wardrobe. This might be one of the hardest things I have ever done. The reason is that I used to wear a lot of black clothes, so I needed to find something colorful to wear. And I had to find something I actually could enjoy wearing... Not the easiest task, but I made it.
Step five: Never ever ever look back.
Optional:
*Move away for a fresh start. Once I get a job (I'll be working at sea)I'll move far away from this hellhole. I really don't like it here.
*Change your name. That's what I did. I changed my whole name into something I liked. It made it easier to put my past behind me, and I have never regret doing so.
